Stockman Sunday picture show

The schrade 861 and versions are an excellent pattern, and I’m grateful to have just about every iteration of handle and tang stamp produced, with the exception of the schrade cut co era versions (which are not a common sight!)

The first five are beautiful peachseed bone examples of the 1950’s. Number six is a “wavy bone” of the later 1950’s to early 1960’s era knife.

Starting with the craftsman etched knife we’ve moved to the 1960’s-1973 walden delrin era, followed by another delrin walden that has spent some time in my pocket during the hot summer. Following that we have a post walden with NY USA on the tang. This would have been made in a small window between 1973 to 1975, when the pattern was then discontinued in catalog. The 861 lived on because in 1976 it got some new (old) pants in the old timer guise, which was produced until 1990 when it was last shown in catalog. Thanks to glennbad I also have a very nice 61ot with beautiful sawcut bone and saucer shield reminiscent of the early bone 8OT.

OK here it's Monday, Christmas Day but was out late feasting so missed one of my favourite threads. However, it's still Sunday in The Americas North & South

Showing an acquisition from this year and really pleased with it and for forum help in getting it here. Queen D2 knives are every bit GEC's equal, don't be deceived by their last miserable couple of years in 'production' where some bizarre stuff oozed out...These are quality in every way.

I asked Tim Robertson to build me a stockman based on the Case tested stockman in post #1 of this thread. The shape of the clip point was the thing I wanted most, I had him add choils, and a bit bolder swedges. I think he nailed it 😎
