Stockman Sunday picture show

Thank you, I stand corrected … and for my own edification - as I understand it, stockmans are serpentine and a bit smaller, and cattle knives are straight equal end patterns and generally 4+ inches closed … is that correct?
That's right, except for the size. the size of either can be almost anything that is not absurd. Early cattle knives usually had a spear master instead of a clip but there are plenty of both in all eras. Your knife is a dandy.

Thank you, and thanks for the info.
I really appreciate it.

Forgive the crappy pic but I wanted to post this one today.
Kershaw Iredale - had it for a few days and it has impressed me more than I expected. The only nit picks I could find are a very small spring gap, a slightly raised center pin on one side and the alphabet soup 7 something steel. Although i have to say it came very sharp and was hair shaving with just a few passes on the fine stone and a little stropping.
3 5/8" closed.
Would be nice if they made a 14c28n version.

I may be somewhat adrift posting this here, do go easy on me now:) I bet Rich S digs it!
What do you call a stockman with an awl? That's not the opener of a niche joke but this new oldish stock Stock knife (?) I received today.
Needed work as the fellar who ground the bevels didn't make them meet. Much rough grits all the way up to mirror edges. Sharper than my wife's stare when I've been on the sauce.
Excuse my paw.

Oh dear, tis a Cattle knife so?

Nice knife. It is a cattle knife with a punch. Awls are perfectly round in cross-section.
You bet me to it:)
A punch it is thank you sir! Second person to correct me on that today actually. I'm stubborn in my ignorance.
Would the punch have been pointer originally? I have sharpened it up like a curved chisel if you get me?
