Stormy Weather

I say leave the guy alone. His choice, his knife, his money.

Lorien - you have very good taste. The handle material plus guard patina plus blade shape is just outstanding! This is truly a work of art and I bet you will be proud to own this. You are right, it begs to be used ;)

thanks Kaleb:)
Kevin, that's a great idea:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:!

the sheath is nearing completion...and WOW! is all I have to say about it so far.

I'm not sure yet how to post full sized pictures from my new fototime account, but if you click on these you'll get to the page and be able to view full size if you so desire

Stormy Weather is almost done!

1. Open the picture in Fototime

2. From the menu on the left, select "Create Link"

3. From the bullet options: Standard Size / Original Size / Thumbnail - select original size

4. Cut and paste the link beside "BBC Code (forums)" right into the body of your text and it will show here full size.

Sheath looks great!

I tried and tried what you suggested Roger, but it looks like I can't post a larger picture unless I pay $24 per year:confused:

You may be right. I bought a membership ages ago and renew every year. It's more than worth it to me for the extra storage and bandwidth allowance. I also like the fact that if someone goes back to an old post from several years ago, the pics I posted are still there.

We can only expect so much from something that's free. ;)

Combining the best attributes from both fototime and photobucket would make a heck of a photo storage site.

Right click, copy the URL (PC) or open photo in new tab (Safari/Mac). Copy/paste.

I've paid $24 a year since 2002.

ok, so you're all telling me to stop being such a cheap prick and buck up.

So are you saying that all your complaining about photobucket over the last several days was in regard to them not supplying you enough bandwidth with your "free" subscription? ;)

Not getting what you paid for is one thing; But? :)

I'll admit to being frustrated that all my pictures disappeared once my bandwidth allotment was exceeded. I've been tending a number of threads lately which rely on photo hosting services, and losing something I've taken for granted up til this point was a rude awakening. I don't profit from these threads and paying for photo hosting is not something I ever considered I'd have to do. I'm guilty of not reading the fine print, and you know it was probably the Best Bowies thread which overloaded my bandwidth and the photos I posted there I posted for someone else, so...

All I want to know now, is whether or not the photos in all these threads I have going will be renewed once the allotted timeframe has passed(?) I couldn't find any info about that anywhere.

Sorry for such a sidetrack. in my post above, I had copied the URL and inserted it. Then it showed. Now it has the 'Subscription required' thumb. You know the drill.

This thread needs: Less photo hosting, MORE Axelson! :)

Stormy Weather is complete, and will be on her way to her new home very soon.

I can't say enough about how much of a joy it was to work with Magnus on this project. His Art embodied everything and more that I had imagined it could.

For those of you who are concerned that I will use this knife and spoil its perfect finish, I say; alright already. With this piece, I finally must admit that I have become a 'Collector'. Magnus has turned me into a one, and the only use that I now foresee for this blade is inspiration and the joy of experiencing a unique creation any time I want, and to share it with others.

We have further plans, however, which will take the edge off my hankerin to use Stormy Weather for the purpose she was designed for. Stay tuned...

I am glad to finally have compleated the knife for you Lorien!
It has been a true pleasure to work on this project with you!

Here are a few more pictures of the knife:

Well Lorien, that thing is a beauty, if anything can make you change teams (user to collector) that one should. Enjoy it.

I don't think of it in terms of teams. More like confluences:) The river diverges, but meets up again at the sea.
