.
when the end of civilization as we know it is at hand, i expect you hogs to come and help me defend my INFI, free lickher for everbody
.
Have you heard about the HK416? Not that you and I can get our hands on one... :grumpy:
Yep, need some .45 in there. I need to hit a local gun show because ammo at the range is killin' me.![]()
Strange.......you should stick with one round for each type range weapon and the same caliber for each type, pistol, rifle, and shotgun. First....9mmWHY.....my wife can shoot .357 easily, come on....give me 45 or give me death!! . The .308 is the perfect rifle round.......ditch the 30-30 less chance of confusion in a high stress situation and reaching for ammunition or having someone go grab ammo for you and get the wrong box......standardized munitions!!!!! I would ditch the game shot and stick with buck and slugs only for the 12.
GF's points about standardization as sound, but it isn't like anyone needs my endorsement on that one.

You guys don't hunt, do you? It's not all about a SHTF scenario. After Iraq...it isn't as fun if they don't shoot back,
My .30-30 is a great 150-200 yard gun that puts a deer in the freezer every time I pull the trigger. And most of my deer hunting is in thick cover where the longest shot is about 50 yards. 50 yards!! Throw a rock or jump out the tree at that range!BUT if that's as far as you can shoot then stick with the .30-.30.......I mean knock down power is quintessential if your aim is lackingIf I'm going to hunt over a cutover or a field, then I'll grab the .308 or the .30-06.
12 gauge game loads are for trap/skeet and the hundreds of doves that I miss every September.![]()
9mm is a fine round for practicing at the range. Practice with what you would use, gun and ammo .45 ammo too expensive? Get yourself a 9mm and sling some lead down range. Three words: Winchester white box.
12 gauge in the house with little kids? My first three loads in the magazine are #6's. They'll do plenty of damage at 10 yards, and they won't go through drywall same as buckshot or slugs. If you hit your intended target the buckshot shouldn't go through the drywall eitherA mans chest can stop a lot of rounds!
The tungsten turkey loads? Well, what do you shoot when the gobbler is 40 to 50 yards away?
Standardization, smandardization...BLASPHEMER!!!
Long live the .30-30!!!

That might not be enough. Better start buying more, before its too late. I'm not joking.
