Auction type sales are against the rules on BF’s… you might consider selling on eBay in the future if you have no intention of honoring your posted for sale price.

I didn’t know engaging in capitalism was so frown upon here.

Capitalism has nothing to do with it, having enough self-respect to honor your word however does.

If you're using "or best offer" as a form of auction or raffle type sale which you clearly did in this instance then no you cannot, again, it's a violation of the Exchange rules.

Based upon our past history, you should have honored the original price. Check that, you should have honored the original price REGARDLESS.

Lastly, I didn't offer you anything. I agreed to buy it at your original posted price.

You seem to misunderstand the issue here. You posted a knife for a specified asking price. Someone claimed the knife for your asking price. There was no offer or negotiation until someone else private messaged you a higher offer than what you asked for. You are in the wrong here man, as well as the spineless buyer who thought it was ok to step on someone's deal. There is no other way to hash this. Or best offer means if noone claims it for your asking price but offers you less amd you accept their offer as the best offer made. good luck in the future.
