Strider Knives?

Didn't I already explain to you why your stance is both illogical and counterproductive?

I get it, you like Strider, and you get hurt feelings when other people don't. Please, say what you feel about the product and keep it relevant to the thread. This crap is unnecessary and off topic.

If we're on the topic of butthurt Im not sure you have room to talk, considering that you have posted a ton of negative comments in this thread without, frankly, adding anything new.

anyway, live long and prosper mr. spock

I honestly don't know if milling G10 is cheaper then form fitting a darn near itdentical piece of ti. And my zaan, with its textured grip, has far more grip then my SNG.

G10 is a lot softer, a lot cheaper, but again, I don't know.

Here is another way to look at it-could CRK build an SNG for less? Could strider build a zaan for 400?

And the box my zaan came in was really nice, probably a 30 cent box at least..but the box listed the many quality manufacturing awards CRK has won, and the papers made it known that this knife left the factory in perfect condition.

Which is why you rarely see a CRK thread where the knife wasn't right, and one can't say the same for strider. Yet both companies make expensive knives out of very similar materials.

What do you mean form fitting? It's done on a CNC mill. It should be identical right off the bench.

The G-10 is starts off at full thickness and then is milled out.

I've handled a Zaan and I don't think it's anywhere near as grippy as a standard SnG / SMF.

The only thing I have to be upset about is the frustration of watching a grown man fail to grasp notions of pure, basic common sense repeatedly in one discussion.

I do feel that I have said more than is constructive, at this point, though. So, I will move on.

Not sure if it'll work on Strider's, but maybe try swapping the washers. I've heard people have fixed off centered blades by doing this.

I don't think I'll mess with anymore tonight. The lockbar isn't engaging like it did(Theres give after it locks up)and it's not making that thwack noise(which I really like to hear) every time I open it. I'm just going to wait and try when I'm less frustrated. Thanks though.

The form fitting was just a poor choice of words to counter the comment you made about how CRK just slaps on a ti handle, as if that was all to the process.

You think one thing, I think another, no point arguing that.

Maybe the whole price opinion many people share can be chalked up to CRK likely having more hi tech equipment, being in buisness longer, having more funds to invest in equipment and people, and being able to put out a very high quality knife at a price that others couldn't.

Have you given it a good wrist flick? I know on my Sebenza I have to do it once after I reassemble or the lock doesn't set. Could be the case here.

What I did just did a minute ago was redo the pivot with the blade in the closed position and it fixed the "give" in the lockbar and the thwack came back which is good. The bad news is I slightly stripped the pivot screw and the blade is still uncentered. I know Strider doesn't send out parts... Anyone know whereI can get a new pivot screw for a PT?

There's a thread that illustrates exactly what you need. The guy even offered to send some some extras out to members that needed one. People commented that it loked better than the original pivot screw. Good luck searching for it. (about 3 weeks ago tops)

I have (4) Strider folders and the fit and finish on every one of them is fine. SNG, SMF, AR,
GB. If you want one of the strongest folders out there grad hold of a AR/GB. These are all production knives. I really don't go for the customs. Way too much money. I do not own a CRK so I can't compare the two. I also have Randall's and Bussee's. I have had to send two Bussee's back but they went above and beyond to make them right. I have never had to use Strider's service. I EDC the SNG everyday.

Thank you and yes I tried googling it and went to a local hardware store plus called stores and no one had any.
