That is usually my philosophy. my one purchase or even if I made 20 purchases will not make or break the company so all I can gain is a nice, usable knife.Buy the knife, not the internet hype.
That picture is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks very much! I have or have had a few of those so its a perfect comparison. The SnG is definitely a good size. BTW, do you normally have that many at WORK?! That's awesome! hahaI happen to have a few knives with me today at work so I took a quick picture so you can get an idea of how the SnG compares with some other popular knives size wise.

Have an 0561 on pre-orderHonestly, I'm not sure there is one that is regular production. Maybe a Lion Steel SR-1 Ti but those aren't small knives. Most other options could very well be custom or mid-tech and will not be much cheaper and possibly more, except the 030X series ZT. But those are heavier by far than an SNG and they're pretty big. If you can find a NIB 0551 they are damned nice but aren't in production anymore and the 0550/560/561 aren't available yet. The Elmax on the 0551 is a fine steel too and I would like to see more Elmax in the availability stream in general but today, it's few and far between. The Lion Spy is supposed to be Elmax and it's due out in a month or so.
Have an 0561 on pre-orderSo far, the SnG seems to be a good fit. Just seems like it'd be the best carry knife in the price range.
Nice! I wish I could afford both but word on the street is eventually we'll be seeing some after market scales so I think I'll be going that route. Hoping for carbon fiber![]()

\Striders are amazing knives, and with that being said BUY IT! worst case scenario you can get what you bought it for easily. I love my striders.... i currently have 3 SMF's, and an SLCC with the complete numbered set of the RW series coming soon (RW-1 SMF tanto, RW-2 is a tanto fixed, RW-3 is a big chopper)
I personally have big hands and like the SMF more due to the heft. and i will be buying the Terzuola/Strider Collab when it comes out Dec/Jan!
I also recommend the Usual Suspect Network as a forum if you get into striders!!

I'll definitely look into that forum. And resale is one of the reasons I'm not terribly worried about a Strider. They get snatched up pretty quick. Thanks to everyone else as well for the replies so far. Anybody know where I might be able to get some after market scales for either the SnG of SMF? Just wondering in case the color I want isn't available.
