Sub-$300 Katana (2014 edition)

the other one I was considering was the SkyJiro Forge - Kiku-no-Hana, in green with 30 inch blade w/ bo-hi and a 12 inch tsuka. On their site they let you pick the color, length of blade and length of tsuka, with optional bo-hi. At no extra costs. But I'm torn between that and the Ronin elite and the Dynasty

The 79 v 1(chrysanthemum?) has black same, the 97's(square tsuba) are black same, and all four of the samurai themed ones have black same.

I LOVE having choices! That's what makes it unique. The Skyjiro's look awesome.

The Skyjiro I have is awesome, I could shave my face with it. And the fittings are top of the line for it's price point.

I believe it's the ito and saya. Their customer service rep I talked too today was great. So far so good with them.

The 76 v2 fits me well, I would change the sageo though

I can't tell a difference between the two there either. Maybe like you said, they made 2. I have noticed on every one I have seen that it is a single blade in that production run. So I suppose it is truly a one of a kind. The sageo is the easiest thing to change. :) I learned from your videos that it wouldn't be all knotted up anyway.

I'm surprised to not see so many videos on youtube using their stuff. Their swords are sharper than any other I encountered. And I've cut a lot of bamboo with it and no chipping or finish damage

Wait one second here... I see on the Skyjiro site that they have "2" of your katanas. How would it be possible to choose a bo-hi or not, and then blade length??

What if their "2" have a bo-hi and you wanted none? or what if they are both 28" blades and you wanted a 30"?

Consistent spelling errors on the site, but I guess that comes with the translation. And if it is a quality product, then that matters little.

probably because it was a Chinese guy that did the site, that's what I figured. I think the guy whom I chatted with was Chinese too. I dunno if you saw it in person you'd love this katana. That's why I want to get stuff not too many people talk about so I can get some more options open for people.
