I have to disagree....slimey slippery fish, wet hands, and a knife with no forward guard equals cut fingers.

I am very familiar with slippery, wet fish from all the night diving I have done. Cripes, ya ever had a chance to feel the slime off a 4ft. Moray Eel? Ick...:thumbdn: Perhaps I got used to using knives without guards under slippery conditions from those dives...however...

The slotted G10 handle is pretty grippy, and I was just thinking in terms of the bead blast VS Ti Coat. I am glad that you like the DPT...it still finds it's way into my pocket!

Oh HELL yeah them eels bite!!! Not to mention that Hilo has millions of them at mostly all the beaches. Spooky buggers...especially when they "pop" outta some reef shelf you just so happen to be looking in!

Great thread! I'm definitely going to try to fashion a wooden scale for the new Trance I just received. Wenge maybe? Ziricote?

I also received a Keycom, but I don't think it's mine. It's #007 and I really don't need a British secret agent on my tail. :^)

Cool little (and I mean little) knife. I've got to scrounge up a smaller torx key because it's a little stiff, but it's going to go everywhere with me. I didn't realize how tiny it really was. Closed, it's the size of my pinky finger. It might not help much if a rogue grizzly bear attacks, but it'll make manila envelopes quake with fear for sure!
