just bet the husband with 2 to 1 odds that I can lose more weight than he can in 4 months. Winner gets to pick the destination. I really REALLY like warm climes........we have til August 1st. Please, any inspiration to get me to Hawaii would be greatly appreciated. For every 1lb I lose he has to lose 2. we thought this was only fair since men lose "easier" than women. I am even allowed to have a personal trainer and whatever legal means necessary.... HELP!! I think maybe I made a mistake in taking this bet.... LOL

Change it to most body percentage lost. Otherwise unless he cheats on the diet, you won't win. Percent is more fair and competitive. Good luck!

I lost 30 pounds using hydroxycut.... Might give that a try. With cardio added its a sure thing

Cut out all of the carbs out of your diet, and at least 40 mins of continuous cardio every day. It's hard, but it's the best way to go, everythinng else is just fluff.

Just keep the fridge stock with his favorite beer. Even if he only drinks light beer as long as you keep plenty there for him he wont have a chance.

No kidding here, I've been on this for a few months. Joining fitness classes worked best for me. Cheaper than a personal trainer, but I still get the motivation to push myself, which I don't know how to do on my own. Granted, I don't think I've technically lost any weight :p but I did lose several pounds of fat for muscle, and I look and feel better, lost a couple inches off my waist, I have a jawline again, and although I still get tired running up one flight of stairs, I'm fine after a couple seconds and it no longer takes me half a day of wheezing to recover from that.

Might wanna ask SavageSmurf about this stuff, too. He's helped me a lot.

I can go into more detail and answer any questions. Just PM me, or ask me next time we hang out (was it this Sunday?).

Oh, and yoga. I know, first I thought the pink-handled Ganza knives were cool, and now you guys find out I do yoga :grumpy: lay off it :D

The wife lost 59lbs on Weight Watchers and she didn't even work out. No, not the store bought meals all regular food. Except cut ground meat and. Is it is ground turkey in everything though the occasional hamburger is still eaten. It just makes you aware of what your eating by assigning a point value. Hell, just under her guidance I've dropped from 267 to a svelt 235. And the hardest part was eating all the daily points.

Thanks for all of the tips and inspiration guys. It really will help. I am a sloth with no motivation.

Is that stuff still legal? Amphetamines will work for the short term but it is all about a realistic lifestyle change. Yo-yo dieting is where fat stores come from. The best thing to do is cut out all grains and processed foods. The whole "primal" diet is optimal. Cardio is good but seriously do not be afraid of lifting weights, you will not get all bulky and it helps up your metabolism. Best of luck and make it last.

Its more about what you eat then how often you excercise. You cant outrun your diet.

to be fair, it's both... but it does all start in the dining room, and it ends with what you do with those nutrients you consume. definitely stay away from sugary stuff. good thing sue doesn't like beer!

Not enough people realize the enormously important role nutrition plays in becoming fit. I value it as highly as an effective exercise routine. They key is practicing both with consistency. I'm glad to hear you're still with it Uyotg; I've actually been trying a few new things that have yielded impressive results. LOL I'm quite certain the people at my gym think I'm on steroids (never have, never will:cool:). And I'll throw in a class every now and then as well--working out with a group of people helps motivate each person individually--no one wants to give up, or fall behind when others are watching. Good luck with your challenge SueZ--the path of fitness is a righteous one:thumbup:

Edit: trying to lose weight quickly can lead to health problems, and loose skin. There's a reason that on televised weight-loss shows they show all the contstants with their shirts off in the beginning, and then throghout the competition, they have their shirts on. They have to appeal to an audience, and lose vast amounts of body weight in the timeframe that one season will allow--this is a bad idea. If it took you two years to put on 60lbs, then you should spend two years shredding that 60lbs... unless you like surgery.

Move to a third world country and crap your guts out for about 2 months. Worked for me, I lost 75 or so pounds in 2 months.

Of course, I also could not be more than a few feet away from a toilet for a long long time! And, I don't think my digestive system ever recovered.

Oh, I also worked out 6 times a week and included about 8 hours a week of cardio, and weight lifting. Total work out time for the week was probably pushing 20+ hours if you counted gym time and football and basketball.

Who has time for that? It was pre marriage and kids!

I weigh about 100lbs more than when my wife met me! Don't get me wrong, I am still a sexy beast! Now, I am just a fat sexy beast.
