Summer snark !

daizee daizee might be interested in this guy:

notable is that he uses a couple kiridashi style knives for carving - long and thing - sweet

Not in the kitchen drawers but, everyone knows I have bigger knives than the kitchen drawer holds
i've some fairly monster kitchen knives (Dalstrong), that i've busted out to do a briskey, or some ridiculous cut that a friend might have, and they don't have anything larger than a standard chef knife (wrong knife anyway)...

thats hilarious... dont tell me you have a bk9 in the kitchen drawer lol

i have a large glass jar filled with 100s of skewers in that trendy knife block style

inside that is a wealth of the larger kabar knives, bk9, bk5, bk15, bk16, the johnson survival blade, the esse license kitchen knives, and a host of others - even a few henkles/etc :D the drawer below has many more, not to mention the Kephart, which is my favorite steak/meat knife - the patina is awesome.

the bk5 is not bad at pizza, though i have a Dalstrong razor sharp pizza cutter with bearings that is a joy; the bk9 or johnson blades from out for frozen stuff i might need some heavy pry-bar action or breakup...

that must be a seriously huge pickle jar domahicky you have going on...

this got me thinking, twas many moons ago one of you guys also sported the bk5 in the kitchen for various tasks, something only a Beckerhead would do naturally. I'm almost positive it was you, anyhow thats the only reason I bought a BK5 as I really wasnt that found of the shape, however it has made its way to do a few things and it does seem more suited for kitchen use... now inviting someone over for dinner and asking them how they'd like their steak while holding a bk9 in hand may be a little off-putting in some circles 😀

I think the BK-5 is for carving turkey.
I made a forged kitchen knife with a BK-5-inspired blade several years ago. I just never have to cut anything that needs it!

Here's the BK-5-inspired kitchen carver. It IS a drop-point because I just can't help myself, but the intent was there...:

And some of the hardest-working knives I've ever delivered came in for sharpening, and they brought their friends:

looks awesome man, glad to see you're still throwing sparks between all your other talents. I was contemplating making some cookware knives and then, well my accident and move kinda turned everything upside-down for a couple years then more life happened... someday, maybe someday... or ill just buy a cleaver from you or something I can intimidate my wife with if Im making dinner, seems everytime im in there she wants so supervise...

but yeah, returned for sharpening? shine all that, Id refuse to sell to anyone that cant sharpen, kidding, but you'd think shipping both ways would be enough for a decent quality whet stone and trial and error...

Looks like I'll be doing a fast trip in and out of OK on Saturday to pick up a kmg and ht oven about 90 or 100 miles south of tulsa. It supposedly comes with some tooling, like a small wheel attachment and set as well
