Super Blue Stretch

Am surprised this one is still readily available!
Great news for those who have not been paying attention! :)

Here are a couple pic's. Still a huge fan of the early CF model for its thinness, ZDP and dinosaur jimping.
Have had both styles of jimping on the CF ZDP run. So I call it Early / Late. Course early, fine late run.

But I think most folks like the new thicker scales better.

MCM, great set of Stretches :)
CF ZDP supposed to be one of my first spydercos (127$ online price) but at that moment in the past I didn't know much about Spyderco sprint-runs.
Finally I bought Camo Military, but even though Mili it is a great knife I still regret I didn't buy CF ZDP Stretch. Now I'm waiting for reedition of CF ZDP Stretch with modified choil :)
And one more thing... Spyderco backlocks with full steel liners are masterpieces in my opinion... they are solid, classy and they last forever :)

I think that those SB Stretches are fantastic but for non-collectors the are not so attractive becouse of funny FRN handle colour, easy scratchable 420J blade cladings...

I just sent mine back today as it was very off center and had lots of blade play, wanted to check with you guys, is the off center blade just a problem with this production or do you guys have centered blades? thanks

In my experience, unfortunately this seems to be either a Seki City, FRN, or back lock problem, or possibly some combination of all three. My SB Delica went back and they replaced it with a new one. My SB Stretch is solid side to side and is centered, but does have a little vertical wiggle. That slight vertical wiggle is the nature of the back lock as far as I know so my Stretch isn't going to be sent in. My VG-10 Stretch also has a tad vertical wiggle. I think the only back lock that doesn't have any play is my Caly 3 CF/ZDP-189.

Mine has zero play in any direction and the blade is centered. Only issue I have, or had was the FRN rubbing one side of the blade by the pivot.

Mine is ever so slightly off-centre, I actually polished the contact points and the centreing is slightly better.

As for the sharpness mine came literally hair-popping sharp but relatively course. I have taken it to the Sharpmaker but have also found that it seems to strop up really well. I was so impressed with the steel that I scoured to find a Caly 3 in SB (which I'll be picking up next month when I'm back Stateside).

Just an update;
I had NO luck on the SharpMaker, but the Edge Pro Apex put a ridiculous edge on this thing.
My only regret is I got a tiny smudge on the Super Blue portion of the edge where some steel shavings seem to have embedded themselves.
Looks kinda like a pencil lead smudge(?)

Anyway, the thing is sharp beyond belief. Can't wait to mix it into the EDC rotation :)

Bump for a great knife! Why I waited so long for a stretch is beyond me...it's a must have spydie.

This little fella got hooked in the eye so became a keeper and I was curious how the stretch would do with a much smaller fish. Not bad! Better with larger fish for sure- but not bad!

Trout season! For anyone that hasn't used a strop,I highly recommend trying one with black & white compound.
