Super polished edges

Nice, how many grits of sandpaper do you go through?

After 1500 grit diamond stone I go to 2000, 2500, 3000, 5000, 7000 and then move on to diamond paste and strops that I made for my KME. I use a strong / thin double sided tape and once attached it's very flat and unless I accidentally use a lot of pressure I can go in either direction without issue. It works really well for getting the really fine scratches out before going to the strops, at 3000 you start to see a really nice polish appear and just gets better with each higher grit. I'm sure you've seen it but if you haven't search youtube for "Wicked Edge Sharpening a Kershaw Skyline Dull to Extremely Sharp", he does basically the same thing.

Does it make a difference to go past higher microns over 4? Like for example going all the way up to 160k grit?

What angle was first vs second? Seems like a lot of photos here have small bevels
Yep, angles are on the pics. Over time I’ve realized I like a very accute, tall, laser sharp secondary bevel. Love how they look, mirror polished. Love how they slice.

Oops, was hyperfocused on the angles haha. Amazing the difference between a few degrees

My first attempt at anything approaching mirror finish. This is a zdp189 endura with a 3000 edgepro polishing tape on a tsprof k02. I've identified some changes I want to make, making a balsa strop today with some chromium oxide paste and give that a go.

Looking good! Keep us posted how that goes... Love the zip tie wave mod! That's old school right there!
