Super thin blades

I have a Böker Exskelibur 1 and 2, 3 Delicas, a HG Grip, a Stretch, a Chaparral, a TRM Neutron (not mentioned yet, still very thin), a Native 5, a Mini Freek, a PM2, and a Dragonfly. The reason why I was wanting something other than the SAK is partly because the Victorinox steel is... rather mediocre. It cuts, but not for very long.

I got a Kershaw Hotwire the other day. About as thick as my Vic Huntsman at the spine. Spring assist open and hollow grind blade. Only thing is the steel is 3cr13, but hey, it's only $10 at Walmart.

It gets left out of these types of conversations, but the Manix is one helluva slicer. Thinner blade than the PM2, full flat ground, they can be incredible. I’d wager my CruWear Manix would compete against my traditionals on any given day.

The Spyderco UKPK is very thin, at 0.07" at the spine. One hand opening slip joint, great little knife, can be had in S110v.

Spyderco mantra, and you can still find them at discontinued price if look hard. It's. 015 behind the edge, but you also get m4. So unlike a lot of the thin knives mentioned here you get a steel that can handle lower dps and will be more durable with that beloved thin edge. The spydie chef would be my second even though it's considerably thinner behind the edge it's not nearly as ergonomic doesn't really have a fun action. Just my opinion

I just had to use my SAK for the first time in a while at work today because my main knife I brought really failed me (I didn't sharpen it before I carried it, the previous owner did not give it a good edge), and I realized I forgot just how friggin well a SAK cuts. Problem is, the two hand opening and slip joint are just inconvenient.

This brings me to the question, are there any similarly hyper thin blade folders with one hand opening that anybody knows of? Thinnest two I have right now are my Bestech Zen and Rike Hummingbird, both significantly under .1" thick, but the micro blades aren't the best choices for doing serious work. Best I can think of is my William Henry E6, but I have that and William Henry is a little out of my price range.

There is nothing available unless you go custom.

The next best option is custom regrinds

Start Wowbagger recording play back:
Pick the knife you just LOVE . . . in the steel that you CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT.
Get it ground to the thickness you like.
Float away on cloud 9

Mine as you know is CTS-XHP. Four inch blade ground full flat to 1.9mm (0.075 inch)
For what is is worth I would do the exact same thing in M4 if I could get it in the handle I like.
Closest thing is my Para2 in M4 and I swear . . . even though the steel at the pivot is TECHNICALLY thicker than my Manix . . . my experience in USE is that the blade is thinned out very nicely very soon after we travel away from the pivot and I would much rather use a Para2 when I want a thinnish blade than my Manix.

Forgot to mention, I also have a Mantra 1. Pretty happy with mine, action is good and it slices quite well... but you can always get thinner.

I've thought about getting some regrinds, they are just really expensive. I actually picked up a 20CV Mini Grip with a regrind to a super thin HG and it's nice, but I think the regrind could have ruined the HT because I can't get it to hold an edge. Sadly I don't have a few thousand lying around to get my favorite knives reground.

Sounds like you have all options you can get.
I say carry a slip joint for the time being, until more thin modern options come out (I hope).
With lanyard, you can open it one hand with securing lanyard with your teeth or foot.

I am quite happy with the sliceyness of Case Sod Buster Jr.

Maybe it's just a burnt edge. Do some heavy sharpening and remove some of the metal then let us know
