Surviors! Off Topic & Nonsense talk thread!

Spidydercos are not aesthetically the most pleasing, but they are very functional and for a light EDC carry (for jogging, etc) they do make some great options with very good steel. That said, Sebenzas from CRK are probably the best looking folders from what I can see from many photos I've seen on here.

Justin, I'm very surprised that you haven't had much luck in moving some but I've also seen them move very fast as soon as they show up. However I have no idea if the $350 - $400 range which they easily seem to bring is model specific or if it is a deep discount as compared to when new!

Depends on what is going on. For years they would go a slight amount below new, probably $50 or less on average.

Now a days, it seems to take a steeper discount to move most of them, with a couple exceptions the main one being the really old regulars, complete and mint. They are selling like hot cakes. I think people want the older stuff right now, as it's just recently become public knowledge Chris is no longer part of the company.

As the bearer of bad news, a very large bear, reportedly a grizzly mauled and killed a park ranger in Yellowstone's outer glacier part while he was off duty and mountain biking with a buddy (the bear and the slower buddy joke did not apply in this case). Shoot 'em up human types are now in chase of the culprit bear. The ranger was armed but obviously came across a very startled bear and did not have time to draw his weapon. Unfortunately he was not donning any bear type of bells!

I've come to the conclusion that knife guys (lets say knife people just to be more PC) in general have a better basic knowledge of firearms than gun guys have that of knives. Of course there are many who are very proficient in both fields having had or still are active Millies, but by and large I still believe in what I am saying without much scientific data to back me up. Of course in no way shape or form I'm implying that knife hobbyists know more about firearms as gun hobbyists do hence my use of the term, "better basic knowledge". What says You?!

Justin in case you were not aware, Governor Jerry Brown of CA signed and enacted into law 6 new gun related legislation while vetoing 5 others. One of the new laws will make the purchase, sale and transfer of any assault type semi auto rifles (commonly and somewhat erroneously referred to AR15s) effective as of Jan 1st, 2017. Another law will prohibit all those extended capacity magazines which were grandfathered in prior to the max capacity becoming 10 in the mid 2000's. I have already taken my 13 capacity mags to be blocked for 10 max. In addition in July 2017 there will have to be some form of registration and database for the purchase of ammunition.

All that said, I ain't still buying one of them fugly things and I normally like fugly! However when I was at the local gunsmith earlier on, I fell in LOVE with a beautiful Sprigfield M1A. I may have to slow things down to a halt on knives after I snag the last one on my wishlist, namely a CPK-FK ;)

OMFG I hate the "assault rifle" thing. I'm gonna snap. I can't take this Commiefornia crap. The just did the mammoth irovy ban too. Why does anyone live in that state still.

On the nicer side of life, I just prepared a $900 Sebenza for entrance into my EDC rotation. Ahhhhhhh thinking of that makes me feel so much better.

What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, rainbows and butterflies!

Edit:

I'm gonna let Billy Birdzell, an american speak on it for you:

Jerry Brown can suck a fart out of my ass. That shitbird went full retard with all of these new laws because he's one foot out of the door and he wants to leave behind some sort of legacy.
I'm betting that everything will get overthrown anyhow.

You don't have to convince me Brother! I'm a law abiding citizen, a gun owner and a firm believer in the 2nd amendment. That said, the organization which represents the majority of the gun owner no longer represents me as I no longer share much of its leaderships' political views. That is where I will leave things on that front...

That said, IMHO the Liberals are going about this the wring way by creating a bogyman out of the term assault rifle and as such. It has now come to pass that wherever the Liberals create a vacuum through their policies, another part of the Union accelerates toward more dramatic changes. It is no longer the case of, "to every action there's an equal and opposite reaction"!

IMO, it would be more sensible for the politicians to come to some sort of grand bargain on this stupid War on Drugs and the Mental Health crisis while not politicizing the 2nd amendment. Now I shall keep my mouth shut ;)

Hahaha! You're dreaming. We gonna get Gavin Newsome and you'd be lucky if he lets you keep your knives while he's at it. In any case, we in CA will eventually secede from the Union anyway. San Andreas Fault will be making sure of that :D

The majority of law enforcement out here won't charge law abiding citizens anyhow.
I'll be out of this cesspool soon enough anyways.

Not gonna happen buddy! Your gonna have to run away, nature won't do this one for ya! Flee the tyrany. Move north.

I'm a Blue State kinda guy. So I will most probably be heading north to OR to retire over there but still close enough to Cali because of my Kids and Family ;)

I'm thinking about Prescott AZ. I don't know if I can afford Sedona.

If I was younger, say Justin's age; I'd be definitely gravitating toward Scottsdale. With the bevvy of ASU coeds over there, I could surely have gotten myself in loads of trouble :)
