Now, since your response had been overwhelming...

Choose ONE AND ONLY ONE FOLDER THAT YOU'd CARRY in a survival siutation.

Must be large enough to do heavy stuff, and yet small enough to fold up and fit on your pocket.

No folding axes...no REKAT SIFU's (TOO BIG).

Try and limit balde length to under 5".

Buck (titanium handle) lockback or the wooden series handle, I have limited expereince in custom folders but this is an excellent production. Cheap too!

Hunting? Don't be a wise guy, what do you hunt with a knife?

Name it!

Depends to what you want to survive.

Which ever knife you have in your pocket when the need arises is going to have to do. Mosto of us don't schedule survival situations in advance.

For a kit of some kind to go in the back of a car or whatever a Spyderco Delica/Endura would be hard to beat. Good Steel, strong construction, easy to replace, cheap, what more could you want?

It would definitely be my Benchmade 710, but I'd probably end up wishing it had some serrations. If so, I'd wish I'd chosen my Spyderco Police left-handed. Hmmm, if I glue them together, can that count?

Like MNH points out though, I don't usually plan these ahead of time either, so I'd end up with a Benchmade 705. IMNSHO, the best knife for the size, but a little lean in a survival situation.

I'm looking at this as a survive in the woods and not the street situation. So my choice would be a Victorinox Forester. The saws on sak's provide a fast efficient means of gathering firewood building shelters, and making traps. Plus I'll still have a sharp 4inch blade, screwdrivers, awl ect.Remember if you don't care where you are you can never belost!

Let me mention that I would have to pick a knife in my arsenal that I carry on my person regularly...most likely end up being my BM M2 Stryker in 50/50 configuration. Until recently, I carried that or my Pioneer II (REKAT) in black tanto style almost every day.

Right now, if I all of the sudden was is such a situation, I would be just fine. I have my Mini-Stryker on my right hip, my tanto CS Para Edge around my neck, and my CS ready edge in my bag. if I had to strip down the t-shirt and briefs...i'd be left with my CS Para Edge...too small, but def up to many tasks!

If one were to choose any knife for SURVIVAL wouldnt you want to have serrations???

Anyway mine would also be my Benchmade M2 Stryker........

Either a large Sebenza or a BM 710 M2.

If it was all I could have on me, I'd have to go with some sort of Leatherman or other tool. Either that, or one of the ridiculously large SAK's. Otherwise, you'll NEVER find me with one of those SAK's.

Large Sebenza or a Buck 110.

Though they may be a distance apart in design and price, both have delivered for me. In the case of the Buck 110, over a long period of time - and repeatedly.

Hey Guys....

WoW,, I'm really shocked at the responces...
A few people mentioned SAK...

I'll put my RUK SAK against ANY of your Benza's, Benchmades or Spydies,Emmersons Customs any day of the week. The RUK SAK will be the Top of the Heap, Hands Down, no Competetion!!

Remember now,, we are talking Wilderness Survival!!!

And the Very last thing I want on my Only tool are serrations.. They are next to useless.

Hard to beat a RUK SAK in this type of situation No matter what folder it is....
