Survival FOLDER??? :>

Normark,I believe the Victorinox forester that I listed as my choice would make me one person that picked a SAK.The saw blade alone will out cut any folder.I've hunted, camped and canoed in places from the Yukon to the Adirondacks and I've carried alot of knives along thr way but a SAK with a saw blade was always what got used.

Try one of the Victorinox alox handled knives with saws (Pionnier). Sturdier than the plastic handled SAKs by far.

I don't count my large lockblade SAK as seperate survival gear, I'm never without it. For an extra survival folder I'd pick a Buck 110 semi-custom with BG42 blade. If I couldn't have both, I'd just take the SAK.

My Bob Dozier Folding Hunter w/jigged bone scales. It's sharp as a razor....easy to re-sharpen...has titanium liners in case handle breaks off you still have a knife. Good edge geometry for skinning, whittling even stabbing if you have too. It also happens to be a very convenient size.

Large Sebenza. Sharp, strong, reliable, easy to maintain.

A Leatherman Wave, if that counts as a folder and if I get the opportunity to choose before being lost in the wilderness. Otherwise, the folder I am wearing.

My large Sebenza...unless we're talking about urban survival then it will be my soon-to-arrive MicroTech Combat Talon II

military is too big...
How can the Military be too big for a survival knife

? The blade is less than 4" but still big enough to be useful and the large handle gives room to move the hand around for different cuts. All that and it's light and comfortable to carry.

Get's my vote too, although mine doesn't have a black blade like some people's
