Survival knife ?

Awesome looking knives. This looks like it might be an ideal skinning knife too, with the choil and ability to choke up. The more I'm out the more I think I prefer a knife this size, something with chopping ability and a good edge for working meat. Last time we went camping, and all I had was my field knife, all the wood we brought got wet, and I needed to baton into smaller pieces that were dry to get a fire going. And I was wishing my field knife was a little bigger, well this looks more like what I needed!

the steel for this knife needs to be rolled to spec, and a great deal of it was acquired. About 7 prototypes were built, some quasi destroyed, in order to dial the handle in and test for ideal bevel geometry. Further changes may occur after I conclude my testing. A lot of time, thought and work is going into this knife, and it will be everything you expect it to be. Hopefully more. Every aspect of it is purpose driven

In short, we're not fucking around. It won't be cheap. It will be a very solid value, though, for someone who wants a high performance cutting tool that's nearly indestructible. We are hoping that this will be the one knife that you will not want to be without

In that case since I'm wagering with Colied's money, I'd like to revise my guesstimate to: CPK-nottobenamedsurvivalknife = 110-115% * LC

Still I would be all in for two ;)

I see no reason why it should be more than the LC or even very close. Unlike most Im not afraid to throw numbers out there. Like that other guy said, since its the same steel, and the length is between the FK but under the LC, its only logical that the price should be in between those two as well.

Anything else, besides using some new steel that outperforms Delta 3v, would not make any sense.

Perhaps this "unusual gauge" could add to the price.

At .225, the steel is an unusual gauge so we've ordered a run rolled to a custom thickness which is going to add a few weeks to the process, but we have material on order for this project and hope to start cutting chips for the first run of ~150 soon.

All of the CPK knives are BARGIN and I expect the Survival Knife (RUK :D  ) to be as well.

Hey guys, just reminding you that the not a survival knife was actually named.

CPK Fluffer.

Let's go with that for future references.

:D

It will be one knife to carry always, but first I need to get one !! We'll see how that goes :)

My guesstimate is with coiledwire, and probably closer to the LC. No matter, I'm saving and embezzling funds from my kid's braces fund until I can afford one. :D

that's courageous of you to say, however I have to point out that you didn't actually throw any numbers out there ;) :)

the fluffer will not cost more than the LC

:DI'll go with that great forgotten philosopher Yogi Berra "Somewhere, that's for sure, unless it ain't".

All I know is I need one for each room:D

Probably around $280 for the bare knife and $330 with a good kydex sheath. This is a little higher than mid way between the Field Knife ($235) and the Light Chopper ($405).

We will continue to conform to our long standing principals which are honest value for an honest knife, the price reflects intrinsic value, it's not based upon the name or how hot it may be, but it's an honest working tool worth what it costs.
