I'm in the market for a survival knife for under $100. Those persons who wish to opine on what they believe five (5) best survival knives for under $100.00, please do so. Here are some knives to start things off with: (1) Kabar Becker BK2 (can still be had for under $100, I believe); (2) Cold Steel SRK (San Mai steel); (3) Condor Rodan; (4) Gerber Strongarm; and (5) Schrade SCHF9. Obviously, this is not an inclusive list---it's just a starting point. Please keep the discussion on topic and don't forget the under $100 cap, although you're quite welcome to bring in any other knives that you think are worthy of the discussion. Thank you for your assistance in this endeavor.

Why would you want to buy another survival knife? You’ve already found the best. Direct quote from a previous thread of yours
“The ESEE-5... when I say that, respect should ooze from the word itself. There is no better survival knife in the world. If it has an Achilles heel, it is only that it will rust if not cared for, especially if you live in coastal regions or humid climates. Aside from that, the ESEE-5 is the nirvana of the survival knife world. The secret of the ESEE-5 has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle. You must learn its discipline. For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts.

The ESEE-5... you can trust.”

Condor Hudson Bay
Very nice list and very helpful. Can you really get a Fallkniven F1 for under a $100 still? Also, what do you think of the Mora Garberg? Do you have one? I am really interested in that knife. Last question: between the Mora Garberg and the Fallkniven F!, which do you like better? Thanks.

The ESEE 5 is a great knife, but it's at least $150. If you try and read my original comment A LOT slower this time, I think you may end up comprehending it better---at least I hope so.

Trust me bud, I can read and comprehend very well. Why in the hell are you looking for another survival knife when you’ve already got the very best? If you already have the best why waste your money on another? What happened to the pics? Have you not been able to figure out how to post pics yet? Bless your heart.

Morakniv Garberg

Pros:
Around 80 bucks.
Comes with plastic sheath or leather.
Available in 14c28n or C100 steel.
Handle is palm filling, and relatively impervious to the elements.
Scandi grind combined with thicker stock makes batoning easy.
Exposed tang at butt.
Great warranty and customer service.

Cons:
Scandi grind is limited in use.
Plunge grind is wonky.

F1

Pros:
Comes with plastic or leather sheath.
VG1 has a bit better edge retention.
Fit and finish is a bit better.
Blade is FFG with a convex grind, which is a bit more versatile.
Blade is polished and smooth; laminated outer steel is tough.
Handle relatively impervious to the elements.
Synthetic sheath is designed to excel in colder climates.
Exposed tang at butt.
Had a bit of nostalgia, as it's military issued.

Cons:
Handle a little small, and less ergonomic.
Blade is chippy due to factory sharpening. Will need a bit of work to remove and repair.
Warranty is not good.
Price has been creeping north of a hundred bucks.
