Survival Knives...

BK7 - under 100$
BK9 - 104$
BK10 - under 100$
Skrama 200 - under 100$
Kailash Blades - Plain Jane - 110$
Ontario SP5 - under 100

All those knives (and others mentioned here) are good, tough knives that can be used in a wide range of situations.
Especially in the "survival knife" market, you will find many good designs and many of them are affordable.

My survival knife is a 12" kukri.

I'm eager to upgrade, though.

Yeah. That one presses every tactical button you squeeze on to a knife.

As far as an upgrade goes. And bear in mind I tend to lean towards what I am in to at the time.

The silky nata tool might tick a few of the same boxes that kukri does. While being a bit more sensible about it.

But that also depends what you need a knife for.

I have quite a few suggestions but I'll stick with the ones that I have actual use experience with.

ESEE 4: Just badass, a good user all around. Not too thick and pretty much indestructable. I carried one in the woods for about 5 years. The coating held up very well with lots of batoning and all other types of made up scenarios I put it through

SRK: Awesome knife. Mines an old school Carbon V model. I still own this one and if I never got another larger outdoors knife, I'd be good for the rest of my life. The coating has held up awesomely on this one as well.

Condor Hudson Bay knife: Awesome chopper. This is my big chopper blade. I've used it for all types of chopping and batoning. The coating on this has held up very well too. This thing has had a rough life and has taken everything I've thrown at it. They're really awesome for the price. The edge has held up way better than I thought as well. It now stays in my Jeep as my "survival knife".

I think the OP should consider Survive! knives. You might have to wait a bit to get an EDC-2 but the philosophies seem to match

Perfect! A knife that may never exist will fit in great with all his other knives that may not exist either!

Survive!
The only survival knife guaranteed to arrive after you're dead.

But your other knives might same the Survive! and make it feel….. unwelcomed!

I love my Beckers for the around $100 mark for dollar to performance ratio. I’m curious about the Ontario SP6 and SP5. I know Ontario has some issues with heat treat and whatnot but I’m willing to give it a try for around $50. Got some money left over to buy other crap.

Lol really? I know they have an active website, but I didn’t know they’re still up to the same old tricks. I thought it ended in 2019. sad..
Unfortunetly, yes. Still making new knives and selling them while people from 5 and 6 years ago wait for their knives. Thankfully, not here on bladeforums, though.

What a joke, I’m not a fan of Ponzi schemes. It’s a shame, because they make decent knives. But, i will not support crooks.
