SURVIVE! Gear

I think that something easy for you guys to make would be that multiool. Make it flat, and no bigger than a altoids tin. It could have a flat scraper for firesteels and have a pry end, a bottle opener cut out. If it had a bow drill divot and a t25 torx bit machined into it. I will draw up a picture and put it here. It would be easy to have them put into CAD, cut a boatload of them, tumble finish, shoot some logos on and sell. Also just t25 torx wrenches would be something to sell. Like the little allen keys.

Definitely some awesome suggestions! Silky Saws are on the menu, they are Guy's favorite. He was particularly impressed with them when his grandmother asked if she could have one for doing her yard work, she liked using his so much. There is also a small stove on the list, though not a hobo style one like the Emberlit. I have to find my notebook that has our full list of items. I can think of at least one that we have written down, that hasn't been mentioned yet.

With some of the items mentioned the brands we would prefer are associated with other knives or knife companies. Especially the ferro rods and strop/sharpening systems. So that has been a bit harder to button down. We are going to have to take some time to do research and see what else is out there.

would it be possible to "make" firesteels? Get the people who make your handles do up some micarta/g10 nubs with holes for the steel and then epoxy them together in house (this could be a labor nightmare, so i could understand not wanting to do it)

Something like this. Feel free to take my idea and run with it

Hey if it could be incorporated into a buckle, that would be cool.

Fantastic news about going with Silky! I had one that I unfortunately lost.

Great saw though, I believe it cut on both the push and pull so it tore through whatever needed cutting.

We would love to do Made in The USA hats. The problem is that we thought we had found the company. Guy just had a few issues with things he noticed on the samples. When he mentioned them and asked if that would be the case on all of the hats they make, he was handed to the owner who specifically told him he needed to go to an overseas company for that level of customizing and quality. Since then, we have come across hats from other brands, made by the same hat company, with those same issues. So we are at an impasse.

How about SAKS with Survive!'s logo, on blaze orange handles?

I've found the Tinker to be the perfect fixed blade's companion in the woods, it has both flat and phillipshead screwdrivers, can opener, sewing awl, and two blades.

I don't know if Exotac is associated with anyone else, but their firesteels and match cases are excellent. I would gladly buy them through you guys if they were offered.

Also, with all the teasing I've done about the hats, let me be clear that I understand the obstacles. If you're ever able to offer some, that will be awesome, and in the meantime, please don't pack my 5.1 or 4.7 in kitty litter :)

I think it is a shame that a U.S. manufacturer has recommended going overseas if you want a quality product. I think I should open a hat manufacturing facility.

Light my fire firesteel (love it)
Pouch for altoids tin that can be added to the survive kydex sheath
Kydex or leather loop for firestell to be added to the sheath

My thoughts as well. I would think low quality standards would be more in line with foreign made stuff and that an American company would want to offer a quality product.

Check out the 215 gear hats. They are sweet. Get them made without all the damn velcro.

How about a Survive! survival bug out bag put together by Guy. Or at least a Survive! backpack/bag. I wish you'd bring back the old t shirts. My wife steals mine. I'd love to see a digital camo baseball hat with the S! logo, making sure they can can fit bulbous heads like mine.

Multicam with a subdued Survive! fire mountain logo, so I can wear it at work

My vote goes to firesteel with kydex sheath attachment. Its a no brainer and will make a few extra bucks for the company. Would also like a small altoid tin with survival stuff in it with a little hard pouch that will attach to the bigger sheaths.

Not challenging your idea for a better version, but have you seen the Gerber Shard? I've found it to be extremely useful, and similar to your idea for around $6
