I know a lot of people have been waiting to see the new GSO-6, so here it is. We're getting this and a few other new models worked into the production schedule ASAP.

Yeah!!! =)

Any specs to share?

The specs are on the side profile image but sure thing. The OAL length is 11.156", blade length is 6", and the blade thickness is .185". In addition to the new handle profile and length, the handle slabs themselves are a little bit over a quarter inch longer than the previous version.

1. I am so embarrassed, clearly did not look close enough before stirring up trouble........

2. You are one cool dude to answer my question that was already answered!

I said it on FB, but I'll add it here, of all the "new designs" this is by far my favorite!!

Timing is everything....I've been on a kick lately to purchase my dream "camp" knife, and I had settled on the new mid-tech Fiddleback Forge camp knife. It's not as fancy as their customs, but within the size range I want and they look quite a bit like Guy's GSOs...and being a mid-tech, it's not AS painfully priced as a custom model, but still a hefty $350.

Enter the preorder for the newly spiffed-up GSO-6! It's rather uncanny how similar the FBF camp knife is to this new GSO-6....and the best thing is that now, instead of throwing down $350 on a FBF camp knife, I can spend just $234 and keep my money supporting Survive Knives...I just couldn't be happier about this timing, so stoked!!

I thought the Fiddleback Camp was significantly larger than the GSO-6, but now I look at the specs, they are pretty close, although I still think the Camp Knife will have a meatier handle, and be slightly beefier all around.

I won't be getting either as I already have more options in this size class than I need (5.1, Koster MUCK, Guardian 6, SAR 6, Skinny ASH), but I did order a GSO-8.

I'd love to know what weight these models will come in at. I'd guess around 12.5oz for the GSO-6 and perhaps 15oz for the GSO-8. The 'midtech' Camp Knife is around 14oz.

Blade height and approximate weight? Thanks!...you will get my money...

Hey guys - I'd like some advice/feedback on this please....I ordered a Starter 5.1, so I'll have that in hand in the relative near future. My question is; do you guys think I should just cool it on trying to find a good camp knife because this new 5.1, even longer OAL (10.93") than the original GSO-5.1, will fill that need/want perfectly well?...or, with this new GSO-6, will I be getting something substantially different, more capable, or even just more fitting the "camp knife" criteria (whatever that is) than the Starter 5.1??

Thanks in advance!
