Survive! Knifes update question

Right on, thanks guys.

Unrelated I noticed Esee asked to shut down their sub-forums here and their stuff was moved to the general forum. Any idea why?

Carothers DEK1 in Delta 3V....your welcome.

Another vote for the RMD (though I prefer the SR101 over the INFI) and I am a huge fan of Carothers. The RMD has to be among the best bang for your buck in that size of bushy knife. But the Carothers Field Knife 2 (i assume the 1 as well, but I’ve never owned it) is absolutely outstanding as well.

Not trying to take the op’s thread hostage, but pics are needed here.

I’d take any Rat over a Survive! - the RMD is probably my favorite blade in the size range this thread is about. INFI or SR101 - it’s definitely something to consider. Sold off most of my knives, not parting with these Rats.

Sweeeet. I’m gonna have to take a picture like that with mine. I had a couple years back but traded em off. Had to rectify that and recently wound up with these two in the stable.

OP - if you get an RMD you’ll forget all about those bullish!t Surf5ve? vaporware knafs.

Survive knives continuing a pattern of Not delivering their knives. I bought a 5.1 in 2019 and did not receive it. I have the bill of sale but they never sent me my knife. They seem to still make small batches and sell those in the mean time to keep the company open but pocketing the money from the preorder knives. They keep stating deadlines like all knives will be done by the end of the month then they miss it and say next month, year ,etc. I want a full refund now. $249.50."

Sorry for the delay. Yes my knife was paid for up front. I actually responded to one of their updates a couple weeks ago asking if I would receive my knife before the five year anniversary. I got the typical page of no solid answer back. These guys could be politicians...a lot of words but no answers! So I don't have hope on that milestone being achieved.

I have two buddies that also bought (pre-order) a 5.1 at the same time. One of those friends has passed on. He will never see his. I currently live in another state but have bought 10 acres in Idaho and am beginning the house building process. For me, its now a game to see if they will ship my knife to my current address or if I will be local enough to go pick it up. I have a year befor the move.

Let me say that I ordered in May of 2016 and they have not shipped a single blade from that date on this model GSO 5.1. Everything they say is a LIE. Warranty does not apply to them as they don't have the blades to replace it and then if you read what they cover it only covers cutting. Some had issues with heat treat and that is the heart of a blade. I strongly urge you to get a Fiddleback Duke, William Collins knives, LT Wright Genesis or other model. Don't stress too much on steel as A2, AEB-L, and Nitro-V will do everything 3V will do and are easier to sharpen. They do have some in 3V steel btw but that level of toughness is not needed for most things and you should get a knife for what a knife is made for. Even 01 steel is capable of going out there and creating memories. I would take an ESEE in 1095 over the 6 years of waiting and lies you will endure with Survive. There was a time I liked them but not anymore and if I were to go on TV Survival Show I would not take one of their blades because I can't trust that company nor would I wish grief on anyone wanting a good knife. If I were to only choose one knife in that size range you are looking for it would be a William Collins AK Scout knife in AEB-L. The steel is tougher than A2 and just as easy to sharpen as O1. Don't worry about their hype crowd that promotes survive as you will find out they rarely order blades and yet somehow always seem to have them on hand. They use the by the end of the year thing to keep people from bailing on them as most likely folks are asking for a refund. It is always send in money and we got things worked out but they never do. Tell me how do they plan on getting the GSO 5.1, 6, 8, 10, 12 out just to start when they couldn't even get the 7/7 done in 5 years time? On top of that they took in orders for many more models yet they said they will all be done in 12/ 2021.
