Survive! Knifes update question

Second that.

"Performance" is in the name of the company and that is what his knives are all about. Steel and ergonomics all optimized for performance, not appearances. Check him out and you'll see.
I got the FK 2 and it is a work of art. Hands down one of the best blades I own. I hear that they have a Kephart model out now too and that would be a great knife.

If you want to wait 3 years for a factory made knife survive is fine, and the knives are well made. I have a 3.5,4.1 and 4.7.
Instead of the 4.7 find yourself a carothers fk2. The blade length is very close, quality of carothers is better although you are looking at a few more $$.

There are several knives very similar to the survive line on the production side, and a few makers on the exchange here that can make you a knife you will actually get.
It was 5 years for me and they have not even started shipping that GSO 5.1 luckily I got my refund and bought the FK 2 and a Dozier Bushcraft and I would rather take D2 into the woods than a vaporware knife that may or may not ever come. I was told that 3 years is not long to wait for a quality knife like Survive yet now they are taking 6 years and longer. Poor saps waiting on the GSO 6, 8, 10, 12, & 5.1 are in for a longer wait than Christmas 2021. They love to say Christmas but not what year and if you thought this year they will blame you the buyer. Shady people doing shady things.

These kind of posts puzzle me. Their site raises red flags for me, they've got an entire sticky thread dedicated to their scams on this subforum, there are literally pages of posts of angry customers that have never received a knife from them, there is NO suggestion anywhere that they have ever or ever will make good on their nebulous promises... but gosh darn it the knives that they almost never deliver might be pretty good should I go ahead and send them some money? Really?

Looks like they are about to send a bunch (GSO 4.5, 5.1, 12) to BladeHQ per the top of page 2 of the Coming Soon section…

"The GSO-3.5, GSO-6, and GSO-12 orders are currently being finished and shipped. As those runs are completed, the oldest open orders will start being fulfilled. The GSO-4.5, GSO-10, GSO-8, and GSO-5.1 orders will all be getting worked on in alternating batches.

These production runs have taken way longer than we had intended. We know the wait was not expected and has been extremely frustrating because it has been frustrating for us too. Now that we are manufacturing the knives ourselves there will be no further delays. These knives are already part way through production, and we will be getting them finished and shipped as quickly as possible over the next few months." [emphasis added]

Wait wasn’t the song and dance when they teamed up with millet that the increased production capacity would help them catch up?

Those are nice blades, what model is the one on the right? RMD?
Just FYI there is one available right now in the Busse for sale section. Looks very nice and has sheath.
In case your considering one still.

The GSO 5.1 that I ordered in May 2016 has not even begun to get made. Unless 90% of them cancelled like me then that is the only way they can be made by Christmas. Even at that rate it will be 5 years 7 months. Things have been getting longer not shorter and with the addition of new orders I don't see the V series or anything else getting done completely by 2021. That Christmas ploy is to keep people hopes up and continue banking money till the end of the year because they will not be in the office for refunds around Christmas. Their words make them sound legit but I have seen this garbage speech for the past 5 years and counting. Essential Series, SK series, and Millet was suppose to fix it all and all three of those ideas people got bashed and banned for never came true at all. When 2022 comes around you will see that the new excuse is we hit a snag but we have the equipment and it will be done by x time then xx time and if you ask questions the bags will say did you cancel when they missed the deadline after waiting 5 years.
