Survive! Knives Heads Up

That's a very nice Barkie you've got there too Neil. Hope that she finds a good home

Thanks! It's a really nice knife, but I'm afraid to use anything other than stainless steels down here on the coast. EVERYTHING rusts here. I know it wouldn't affect it, functionally, but it would bother me nonetheless.

I'm really surprised you're has lasted this long. Especially being the more desirable 3V.

Survive! finally caught up and increased their prices on some models:

http://surviveknives.com/production-schedule/

GSO 5.1 $249
Necker II $119
GSO 4.1 $214
GSO 4.7 $224 on sale $209
Original Necker $64

Of course the caveat being that you can't order these :D
Prices remain the same for Pre-Production orders but I
won't be surprised if there will a price bump across the
board next year.

Damn My 12 already went up 25 but i guess the 2nds will cost about the price I wanted. I hope the 10 doesnt go up before I preorder. I have 200 just need another 100

Good catch surfer

All these went up:

Finishing up by between $10 to $25 depending on which model from smallest to the largest with the exception of Necker II which had the highest price
bump (by $30 IIRC):

GSO-4.7: Preorders and Presale orders are shipping out in regular batches.
GSO-4.7 Cru Forge V: R&D Presales shipping after the Cerakoting has been completed. Remaining materials will be available after those ship.
GSO-2.7

In Production:

GSO-4.1: Finishing up at heat treat
GSO-7/7
GSO-3.5
GSO-12
GSO-6

Only Pre- Production Orders remain the same. This price increase me hope that Survive! will actually be ahead of our mere;y speculated worst fulfillment estimates!

Now that is a nice compilation of info there. Thanks for cataloguing this

When the delta 3v is available I'll be begging them to take my $224. I'll literally be trying to roll up my $5 and $10 bills and stuff them into the micro USB on my phone.

I think this is a completely reasonable increase. I hope that it helps Guy and Ellie get more equipment or pay another employee. We all know they could easily charge $300 for most of the models

If you note, the price increases were implemented after the orders were closed and the three other models
currently on pre-production order have remained at the same old prices. So one might ask as to how the heck
is that going to immediately help Survive!?

I am no expert on these things as I am definitely NOT in-the-know but here is what I am speculating:

1- Survive! is hoping for a faster turn around and when pre-orders are opened on some of their more
popular models, the increased revenue will help them regarding both equipment and cashflow (extra
inventory, personnel; etc).

2- since these prices seem to be effective immediately, they can still get the same old price of their
Factory 1sts for the Factory 2nds. I don't know if they are expecting a lot of 2nds but even if they
offer 2nds every other week or so, they're going to like the sound of those cash registers a lot more!

+1 to that!!

Yea but let's not tell them that. I'd rather pay less for their knives than more.

While researching Survive! GSO knives on the major auction site, I came across a nice looking GSO 5 with extras. The price is a bit steep but the seller is open to offers and had also mentioned that he has the knife and the extras on the Survive! Facebook minus the fees. If someone is looking for a used GSO 5 in 3V and old school format, look this one up.

Full disclosure: not related to me and I am not benefitting from any of this. Just FYI!

There's a Necker II up for Buy Now on the big auction site. I will not post links on BF because it is unfair but those desperately seeking an N2 will have to part ways with $150 for a 2nd in 20CV! Full disclosure: I don't know the seller but he seems to be in on the Mondays Sale.

On the Exchange today 5/27/2016: GSO 5.1 in 20CV Factory 1st! With AZWelke Sheath. Priced a bit steep for the Ex, but I'm just a messenger who made a comment (please don't shoot at me) ;)

Yes steep indeed , something is worth what another will pay for it . But that sheath is an extra $38 from Azwelke . I would like to have a 20CV , I am located a couple miles from the ocean . I need to upgrade to gold membership want to try trading 3V for a 20CV

I think if it had all the original equipment plus the AZWelke sheath to boot, it wouldn't be a bad deal for say a $40-$50 markup as compared to the current pricing ($249) for those who want a 20CV and a 1st plus don't want to wait a whole year. I just avoid using colorful words describing sellers because I had been on the receiving end of that argument from some of our own good members on here and I am of the opinion that the price of anything on a secondary market can ultimately be determined by what someone is prepared to pay for it, provided that the buyer(s) is(are) savvy and aware of the supply/demand cycles. Now, I shall shut my mouff ;)

No problem Bud. I'll be keeping fingers crossed for those of you who have been longing for one. I can afford another one, two or three; but I shall not be greedy. Go for it and don't let those eBay re-sellers flood that market.
