Survive! Sheaths and standard attachments that fit them

Silver, thank you for your support, you're a good man.

I haven't any pics yet, of the knife at all, but I'll try to describe the upside down carry better here. I've had it this way since yesterday and it's great....and HK is correct, it does make for a very quick and efficient draw. It's actually very secure, because I'm sure Kiah designed the sheath to do this; I just unscrewed the clip from its factory setting, rotated it 180, and re-screwed it through the two holes right above the slots (instead of the holes right below the slots as the sheath comes). It's even designed to do this for both lefties and righties to give everyone a natural draw with the sharpened edge facing away from the body as it's pulled down and out of the sheath. And instead of my belt, I clipped it to my pocket this morning to give an even lower ride and it's working out perfectly there as well. I was kinda bummed at first because I really wanted to carry it, comfortably, as soon as I got it...but Kiah really did create a very well made and adaptable sheath for this 3.5 - thank you sir!

Kiah! Thank you for stopping by our little neighborhood. I really love your work on the GSO sheaths.

Can you say how you like to use paracord with sheaths and belts?

Thank you.

For the most part I just run a piece through the eyelets and knot it on smaller knives. Can switch to a pack strap/belt or horizontal or IWB just moving the cord if the mood strikes. I like 'em high and pressed into me mostly though, so not everybody's thing. Larger stuff goes on a pack or over a shoulder.

Actually never even considered it, but glad it works for you.

Chris, you have a great idea there. I had to go to the Maxpedition site when I saw your post.

Standard, I liked the size of the coin purse as well, but the attachment options didn't seem as good.

This one is big, but I liked it.

That might work perfectly on the 5 and it looks adjustable. Nice find!

I had picked up a maxped knife sheath first thinking that the straps on the back would work with the slots on the sheath, but it just didnt work out for me.

Not sure if I've seen the coin purse, might have to check that out.

Chris, too bad your intended set up didn't work out.

Here is the coin purse. I do like the size.

Lacking in attachment options, unless you're more creative than I am!

Look at another one I found. If you looked at the site I'm sure you saw it as well.

Here's another one I liked.

The back. Much easier too attach than the coin purse, but I think the tc-1 would still win.

I wish there were some of these that had the open eyelet like the esee pouch. Man if they did, there would about be a pouch for everything with all the models they make. And you could easily bind them to the sheath with paracord with open eyelets.

I been scouting the anemone. But its for my soon to be 7/7

You could also look into esse line up. I believe the have a molle attachment sheath there 3 & 4 as well as a 5,6, & laser strike. I own the LS with molle back and pouch. Its nice. I can post some picks if you can't find some.

Thanks for the link, Texas. I like his channel, but I haven't seen that video. I'll have to check it out. An anemone would be awesome on your (future) 7/7! It really would be a pouch on a knife sheath and not like a small kit with a knife stuck on the back.

HK, I agree about the eyelets, would make life easier!

Here's a link I found. It is specific to ESEE stuff, but I'm sure could work on S! I'm not familiar with mallace clips.

Some of the old style metal Alice clips would work well with a paracord wrap.

Maybe once survive gets on there feet good they could add to the Survive! Gear with some cordura backs and pouches, that could fit there equipment. (Just a pipe dream)

Awesome idea, Texas. Maybe like ESEE offers. I know a lot of people have been really happy with Sagewood gear, but I've never gotten into leather.

You could wrap the sheath and use a clip on the webbing to tie it on. Mcq bushcraft has a video of how too. He's a bit long winded but has great videos. You should check it out.

Thanks fellas. Those two methods look like they would work just fine with these maxpedition pouches.

Malice clips have screw holes so you could attach them to the sheath to use on the molle pouches, just sits the pouch out a bit from the sheath.

I've been reviewing the malice (and alice) clips. Sounds like I need to get familiar with them.
