Linder Deluxe Bowie?...im looking at the bolster

The Linder Deluxe Bowie looks pretty close

May have to see another episode to know for sure, I already deleted the last one.

This Buck Creek has a VERY similar look:

....except there seems to be a more pronounced choil and less of a thumb ramp

From http://www.lesstroudonline.com/faq.php Les Stroud's response to a question regarding his favorite fixed blade knife:

Q: If you could take only one fixed-blade knife into the bush with you, which would it be? (I have grown to love my 'Cold Steel SRK', and literally trust it with my life). Thanks, Les.

Les: I do still love my Buck knife - but I grind down the tip to make it less pointy. But I have been given a lot of knives over the while and enjoy them all.

Regarding multitools, he says

Q: What multi tool do you use?

Les: My favourite multi tool is the Leatherman Wave or Charge. But I haven't tried them all.

Q: In two (I think) of your episodes you use a Swiss Army knife, and in the other episodes you use various multi-tools. Any reason why? Or do you just like to try different things.

Les: Yes - was just trying different things - but I still love the Leatherman

Guys, you are getting way off topic here. He asked a question about the knife, not what your opinion was about different hosts. They are both obviously doing something right, as they are both making money by hosting their shows. Take a deep breath, and if you still feel the need to rant about who did what, start your own thread. As for the knife, I have no idea. From the screen shot, it looks like some of the cheap knives I sometimes see in the stores here in California. The 440 stainless Chinese ones that you find in hardware stores and Big 5. Not super quality, but they can be decent enough for a bang around knife. And you can normally keep an edge on them with a stone and some time on your hands. Personally, I think the moral here is the knife you have with you is worth a thousand times more that that uber-expensive technosteel custom blade that cost you more than a small car, that you left at home. So what if you can hone it sharp enough to perform surgery on protazoa? If it is sitting home in your safe, that cheap walmart buck 110 on your belt is infinately more valuable. Who cares that he isn't a knife person? He takes the tools he has on hand and makes do. That is what I like about his show.

Hm, interesting that he grinds down the tip to make it less pointy. I guess that does make some sense, though. In a survival situation, I guess there isn't all that much a super sharp tip will do for you, and it makes it less likely to poke yourself with.

He likes the leatherman wave and the 119, great kit, so he does have taste in blades.
Not everyone who goes in the woods and gets lost is going to have an expensive knife,

That rocky mountain bowie looks pretty close to me.

Looks very much like an Arbolito if you ask me.

Blade shape, handguard, grind - I watched the episode carefully and if it's not it, it's very close at least.

The Sierra Nevadas episode he carried a short ka-bar.Doc arnie was dead on with the boker. He carried the same one on the hunting trip. The arctic one was a winchester fixed blade (you can see the name when he's scraping the blubber).I want to know what he carried in the last 2 episodes. It was the same black handled fixed blade in both.I thought it was a recon scout but it's not.I'll try to get a blade shot ASAP.

Ok so the knives for season 3 go as follows:
Ka-bar
Arbolito Bowie
Winchester Hunting Knife
Arbolito Bowie
Mula Mirage
Mula Mirage
Anybody have a different opinion?
