Survivors: other knives you like

Yup, call me picky but I want tumbled fasteners to match the blade on a natural or brown micarta. Just my preference.

Y'know, I think you can find a tutorial online for DIY tumbling of those fasteners... Might be worth the effort to you.

Hmmm. To be honest with you, they are not easily removable. I have already looked into it. They are just used to hold the scales down, the pins are a very snug fit to the scales. The screws are actually 2 lengths, one is shorter in the front where they would hit one another. They are loctited in place, 1-3 with red. So it's a ton of work, and possible risk of damage getting them out. I would rather just carefully remove them and replace them if possible, but the other option is remove the oxide while leaving fasteners in place. Or just going for it, asking for some extras fro Nathan and shaking them in a box of rocks. The oxide wears out fast on them anyways. Can't be hard to get off.

I am very picky about fasteners, shockingly. I always order extras when I can, to make sure I can replace any that are marred. I hated the first gen ones Guy used, but I LOOOVEEEE the second gen ones. Would you be surprised to hear my 5.1 has 2 scales, 2 sheaths and an extra set of each fastener? My old DLC 3.5 also has a second spare set of black JUST in case.

I completely attest to this and if one plans on removing and mucking around with the CPK handles et al, you'd better to have extra Justin case ;)

I messed one up already and had to butcher the aluminum pin to get it out. IT WAS UGLY!!!

I hope the guy that replaced the fasteners on Psybulls FK comes through. That would be awesome sauce.

Completely shocked!
I don't have 3 sheaths, an extra set of fasteners or a spare set of scales for my 4.1. Nope. Never.

Haha!! Better safe than sorry!
I do want to mod some old spec scales so the new hardware will fit.

I don't think I can let this 4.1 go anytime soon. Too many good memories with it.
That new 4.1 is very tempting though. I'm sure my compulsive curiosity will force me to buy one.

Sure. The Monday 2nds will probably be in people's hands before the preorders.

Negative, just went for a 3.5 in the small size. I'm not saying it's a bad thing about the seconds, that did come off a little terse though didn't it?

A little, perhaps. I can completely understand how it happened. Take a quick peak through there and spot a couple obvious seconds, throw em into the mix after the slow month previous. It's reasonable given the circumstances.

Sorry, I meant firsts. I have no interest in seconds. I wonder if any firsts will be left over after pre-orders are filled. I wish I would have got in on the pre-order, I really like the looks of the 4.1:(. I might just have to pre-order a 4.5 BC for now and wait for the next batch but, that could be years:(

I definitely didn't mean it in a bitchy way. Whining about missing out is all in good fun. I'm not exactly starving for cutlery😂

Oh, gotcha. I think we could very well see firsts on Monday sales also, after all the preorders are filled.

That would be nice. Decisions, decisions... Pre-order a 4.5 before the cutoff or gamble and hope for a 4.1 first:confused:

The standard BF response is get both of course. Just guessing from the profile though the 4.5 is going to be a slicing machine.
