Hmmm. To be honest with you, they are not easily removable. I have already looked into it. They are just used to hold the scales down, the pins are a very snug fit to the scales. The screws are actually 2 lengths, one is shorter in the front where they would hit one another. They are loctited in place, 1-3 with red. So it's a ton of work, and possible risk of damage getting them out. I would rather just carefully remove them and replace them if possible, but the other option is remove the oxide while leaving fasteners in place. Or just going for it, asking for some extras fro Nathan and shaking them in a box of rocks. The oxide wears out fast on them anyways. Can't be hard to get off.
I am very picky about fasteners, shockingly. I always order extras when I can, to make sure I can replace any that are marred. I hated the first gen ones Guy used, but I LOOOVEEEE the second gen ones. Would you be surprised to hear my 5.1 has 2 scales, 2 sheaths and an extra set of each fastener? My old DLC 3.5 also has a second spare set of black JUST in case.
