I ordered a Ratmandu a couple of months ago, paid with paypal and after the funds sat uncollected for a month paypal canceled the payment and redeposited my money. I contacted CS and was told they had a problem with paypal but it had all been corrected. Since the knife I ordered was not ready, I asked if I could upgrade my order to include red black micarta grips and was told that would be fine and given a new total and was told to send payment when I recieved notification the knife was ready. Last week I recieved notification the knife was ready and given a new address to send paypal, I did this and saw the address given was not yet registered. I then emailed CS and asked them to verify recipt, they did not and I cancelled the paypal payment and asked if I could give them my payment info over the phone. On Wednesday I recieved a reply asking for my number and a good time to call, I was working nights this week and asked if they could call after 3:00.................I've sent several more emails without a phone call or a reply.

All I want is to complete this payment, get my knife and move on.

I ordered an RMD a few months ago and had problems with my payment being rejected as well. I got an email that I needed to redo the paypal funds, so I contacted rat customer service because I feared a scam (NOT by swamprat, mind you, thought maybe a hacker). They did contact me and, indeed, the order had failed due to some kind of computer glitch. I got back into paypal and sent the funds (to busse, I think) as instructed and it went on through.

I ordered a RS more recently and it went through w/o a hitch. I think Trissy from customer service helped me with the RS. Can't remember who on the RMD, but they were helpful even though it was somewhat inconvenient to wait to be contacted. I can understand your frustration especially if you have sent more emails. Maybe they are backed up with the holidays or helping with the santa ganza. I know that I saw Garth post over on busse that he was pulling people off of the production line to help with the ganza shipping.

the Rat CS girls will always take care of teh problem, they are some of the best customer service in the business...

I ordered a Kill Devil Sniper Hawk 4 MONTHS AGO. I'm still waiting.

EDIT: Oops. I miscalculated. It's only been 3 months. :o

Pete, you should contact Renee at Scrap Yard, I'm sure she'll help you out.

I have, a couple of times, I think it should have been here by now, but it still hasn't shipped.
I hesitated to comment on it here, but the wait is starting to wear on me.

I placed an order for a KD and RH back in mid october and now have a ding for the KD. So just as Dinges said earlier it should be soon.

Wow, this is really unfortunate. I won't be buying anymore Swamp Rats, and I can't recommend them to anyone in good conscience. And I was one that recommended them to anyone looking for a good knife...

How many threads is this now on poor customer service from Swamp Rat? Making customers wait 3-4 months without any communication for a production knife is lousy. It wreaks, I'm not what stinks more sure though, the incompetence or an air of superiority (you'll get your knife when you get it) generated by this "2 weeks" nonsense.

Well, at least I got a good deal!

Agreed. I never received a response to the numerous emails I sent. Never. I did receive a reply on this forum via a PM, but that only told me my knife was shipping and they were looking into the problem. I even sent a follow up PM here to see if they ever resolved the email issue but received no reply.

It's a crappy business model. Only communicate via email and then only occasionally. While it is possible, for some magical reason, my yahoo email is unique and Swamp Rat is unable to receive it, it's certainly improbable. Really, if one consumer is sending a number of emails to the offically provided email address and they are not getting through, it would be logical to assume there are others. If it were my company, I'd be wondering how much business I'm loosing due to this.

I'm done with them. While I'm tempted by the possiblity of an aniversary Ratweiler, I'll only consider it if I can do it through a Busse ganza. If I've got to go through Swamp Rat, I'll pass until they learn to respond to email and set up a phone number where you can actually get help.

I've also had problems with an order..... I ordered a RMD last fall via email which was confirmed with a 4-6 week wait, I've yet to be contacted for payment. I just ended up buying one off the exchange so it's cool, but I get the feeling this sort of thing happens far too often......:(

Sorry to hear about the various issues, but I have had nothing but great service from the the Swamp. I ordered a custom blade in the last couple of months and had excellent communication and the product was delivered on time. Great job Swamp Rat!

Same here, Sorry some of you have had issues but I have nothing but good to say about there customer service. I ordered an RMD from the swamp and got a call saying it was ready 16 days later. the lady on the phone seemed really nice as well and called me back when i was ready to send payment.

You say you ordered a custom blade, does this mean they still take custom shop orders?

Off topic but i had to comment
.....GO GATORS! Grew up sneakin into ben hill stadium at night to play. i lived all around gainesville for about 20 years. i really like your avatar and sig!

I got them mixed up, the knife that I am still waiting for after nearly 3 months is obviously a Scrap Yard not a Swamp Rat.
I own both Swamp Rat and Scrap Yard knives, and for some reason I recently associated the SR101 of the 1311 with Swamp Rat, silly me.
Swamp Rat, Scrap Yard, SR101, SR77...

Doh! :foot:
