Swamp Rat Customer Service

I'm sure the Busse Knife Group customer service department will turn this around, especially since this much attention is being brought to it.
 
I emailed an inquiry at the beginning of the month about my KDSH, received an email that said it should be shipping within 2 weeks. Long story short, I ordered and received an Azwelke sheath for this hawk, and I still have no hawk, and no word on shipping. I am a long time customer with more than one rat in my collection, but even I am starting to get really sick of this wait. I ordered Oct. 24th and now I'm looking at 3 months instead of 3 weeks as a wait time, minimum. This needs to get addressed or I will move on to another company.

Never thought I'd have to say that about a Busse group knife, but this is getting crazy.

As I mentioned before I am done. I've posted my RMD for sale today. I just can't rationalize dealing with the company. I won't be posting in this sub-forum any longer and I'm not out to bash Swamp Rat. I liked the quality of the knife I received but I made my choice to not deal with the company behind the knife. I know others report having exceptional service from them. I'm sure if I had that experience, I'd be keeping the RMD and ordering from them again. But I've had the opposite so I'm selling and moving on.

As an aside, I've had only exceptional service from Busse and will be ordering from them again.
 
This is my first "negative" experience with them. I received my RMD several years ago with an issue with the coating, that issue was resolved quickly and easily. I have 5 rats atm. Custom handled M9, RMD, RMDx, Hairy Carry LE, and a Warden. All of the purchases were painless and easy, and then i ordered this KDSH.

I'm not willing to abandon the company so quickly, but as i mentioned, this is getting outrageous and i just want an answer. I can wait for things when i know how long. I waited 19 weeks for a JRE leather sheath for my SwissTool. He gave me an accurate lead time, albeit nearly 6 months long, but accurate to a week or two.

I think the Swamp needs to give us a real answer as to what is going on or risk loosing its customer base. Not bashing here, just getting very frustrated and disheartened

Just fired off an email to CS, hopefully I get a more useful response than last time, which said they were "In Production" and should be "Shipping within the next 2 weeks." Which i received 3 weeks ago.

Received a reply that my card was dinged today and to expect shipment this week or early next. Response time is excellent here and was prompt the last time i sent an inquiry. If this is accurate I will assume they have addressed their CS issues. I've gone from disheartened to encouraged very quickly. I will keep everyone posted.

I have dealt with the swamp more then most, never an issue that went unresolved in a timely fasion. Whenever having an issue, call the girls at busse and they will take care of you. If not, Id seriosuly poop myself. Its not news that there is a wait. Sometimes it may take a little longer then expected but sometimes they also ship quicker then stated. Eitherway, they WILL NEVER HOSE YOU!!!!! If you want a refund or out of a pre-order, ask, they WILL, PERIOD.

I wish i had read these customer service threads a week ago. I also wish people wernt making excuses that theres no problem with the SR treats its customers. I ordered a rodent 9 last week can not get a response from swamp rat besides comfirmation. This is my first and from what ive been reading and experiencing last bussekin. I was super excited untill I saw what I was in for. Why dont they hire more people if build times are slow and service nonexistant. Is the military or soldiers really ordering hundreds of pricey sheathless knives out in the deseart?
 
All my Swamp Rat and Scrap Yard purchases have been quick and painless. I guess I'll keep buying until it bites me in the behind!

I can understand your frustration, but don't throw the baby out with the bath water............Busse Combat and Scrapyard can't be held responsible for Swamprat. They are 'kin, but separate companies.

Me, too, for the most part. Definitely, the problems were resolved to my satisfaction. I do wish someone from the swamp would jump in here, though. A little communication might mitigate some of the worry expressed in this thread.

Thanks Josh. forum wont let me PM, can you tell everyone why the they are waiting three and four months and cant get honest answers? I was told close to 5 weeks for my rodent 9. Is this accurate or just b.s.? Please let us know why people are having these problems.

Just got my tracking number for the Kill devil.

I have to say, from a CS standpoint, they have answered all of my emails in a timely fashion, so no problem there.

The extended wait time is annoying, but as long as CS is responsive, I'm remaining loyal to the swamp.

Trissy got back to me within 15min of my email last week. Maybe they got slammed with a larger volume of orders than anticipated? These things happen with smaller companies.
 
I apologize if you think im a jerk, Iike swamprats but Im stressed out about my order and dont know where to go for accurate info.
 
I'm not a Mod in this forum, but definitely send Hindsight (Joshua) that email. He's good people and will definitely help you with some answers. Left click on his name in red, the email option should be at the bottom on the right side of the drop down menu. :)
