What I find most interesting is how diligent Dan and Jerry seem to be about ignoring this contest. I mean, I KNOW Jerry sees this thread here and Dan sees the one on the Scrap Yard forum. They're simply not willing to discuss it. Makes me think that they'd just like it to go away. But it was their idea, after all. If they want it to go away, maybe they should say so instead of hiding behind a curtain of silence.

I would be just as happy knowing one way or the other.

The only thing that's hard is that some of my ideas were so clearly winners! :) hah!
 
Jerry answered the question in the Busse Forum. The Boss jack was the first of the three from the contest.

Now there's a good question, especially as the BOSS Jack is little more than a remake of a previous Busse design the HOGs have been requesting for years. If Jerry didn't announce the winner, maybe he won the contest and gave himself a BOSS Jack. (J/K :D )

I think there was enough leg humping in the 4 forums they at least announce one of the knives but not a winner. Now maybe we can get a push for an announcement on the new Swamp Rat blade.
 
This is just a guess on my part, but I think the contest may have been poorly conceived to begin with and neither Jerry nor Dan realized it until after they announced it. After all, give someone outside your company credit for a design you manufacture and sell and you're just opening yourself up for future legal hassles.

Hmmm, I wonder. Although by entering the comp you surely forfeited your "legal" right to the design in any case...?

Not necessarily. When a few people Photoshopped some mods they made to Bussekin designs and posted them on the Scrap Yard forum, Dan got very upset. Some of those people even went so far as to publicly state that they were donating their mods to Dan and Jerry, but that didn't make any difference. No Photoshops, no pics, no sketches were permitted. Now it seems that even written descriptions may not be permitted. If that's the case, the "Help Design And Win A Free Knife" contests both here and on Scrap Yard must surely be dead.

How about a bowie stlye clip point blade (8-9 inches) with an intergral guard like on the Blackjack mamba Coffin shaped handle
you could call it the widowmaker
 
I would like to see a scrapper 6 with the same handle as the scrapper 5 with 3/16" sr101 and or infi , and put some jimping on the thumb ramp , and round out the finger choil to something like the ratmandu.

Same deal on the radmandu , make it a 6" cutting edge.

Also , it would be cool to see the familys blended , say like a s5 or s6 with the sar 4 or sar 5 handle type. or a rataman du handle
 
Just do the Rat Claw with the straight wharncliffe style blade mated to the latest LM handle. BAM! :) :thumbup:

Now that's a winner!

A EDC (Something like the SAR 3 or the AD) with interchangeable G10 handles. Some new crazy g10 patterns or natural product would be nice.
