Well, it was meant as a joke but I dont think the comment was very nice in that it chalenges the mans choice to buy swedish tools (as opposed to US made, I guess). Or thats the way I read it at least, but that may just be me being touchy, idk. But that discussion is a realy interesting one, I think.

Im into Swedes. Just the blonde ones though.

I just got mine from Sportsman's Guide after they were on backorder for six months. They sent two - one an unissued HB and one well-used one marked "KB44." I have heard this is either Kimo Bruks issued in 1944 or Konigliche Bruks. Anyone know for sure? I have used the HB and it punches way above its weight class. It seemed easier and faster to use than a 3.5 lb. Council for felling.

A quick search did not give me anything substantial on either of those names. I will continue looking around.

Ok, after some more research I can say, with some certainity, that the KB axe is not made in sweden and I would guess that Kimo Bruk is right and that would make it made in Finland, which is pretty cool. They cant be too common, I have never seen one.

Thank you for the info, I was wondering on that.

Anyone ever get one of these without a manufacturer mark? I just gone one yesterday and the only marking I can find is the crown stamping

Would kust beakning be the manufacturer then? Thank you for weighing in Cegga.
dont think that they manufacture them but they can maybe order them from one axe company with there own mark on it still a guess
there was a lot of axes made for the army to all navy airforce and some was painted in gren ir color but not all and some with the axe companys mark on but sometimes only the three crown on them
