SYKCO Is Proud To Offer A Test-Run Of The Alpha Chef 8 . . . Coming This Feral Friday, October 25, 2024 At 9:00 PM Eastern!!!

David, giving this some thought. What would be great, is an "edge" sheath that snaps on without creating excessive bulk, length, height for the knife drawer. Drawing inspiration from some of your past cutaway styles on big blades. With that massive heel drop there's a lot of blade area to work with :D ~ Whatcha think? Not sure I've got a kitchen knife block with a tall enough slot. - like ice skate edge guards! that's how to explain what my brain is thinking :)

That would be pretty cool. I was thinking something along the lines of what most cheaper kitchen knives have, like these.

Definitely wanting something more minimal. The typical pancake with carry attachment would be unnecessarily bulky for kitchen draw duty. Depending on the options, I may even consider having a custom wooden block made just for the Alpha Chef.

Neat covers but I dont tend to carry my kitchen cutters away from the cook place. I prefer to set up wood blocks (usually sanded and coated red wood since it is soft and pretty) with magnets (rare earth for strength) and leave them on the wall in the vicinity of where i use them. Out of town until wednesday but ill attach a pic then if anyone cares. I dont like knives in drawers

Rare earth grab enough to hold on with low carbon SS? I know they are powerful little buggers, I've got blood blisters a couple times on small ass ones. They do not play around.

The white one, We on the same page. I recently bought a squared off, veg prep style with a kydex type plastic sheath over the blade only. It was really thin material, tight fit. Has ceramic rods molded into the edge at the hilt, like a sharpen on each withdraw idea? Useless to me, but the cover is great. grip is amazing and damn useful, couple times a week.

yeah, its sticky stuff even thru half inch redwood.
OK, guess it didn't dawn on me but year, the magnetic knife rack is a popular thing. I watch a lot of cooking show stuff and OK, well, they have to be! I'm no chef, but pretty sure, I wouldn't have a piece in the kitchen that wasn't some form of SS so makes sense. they make up the lack of attraction with increased surface area for just enough.

Im outta state now and will send a pic when i get back. super easy to make and these knives stick like glue. im sad i missed out on this offering but am hopeful another will come around

This is a VERY LIMITED Test-Run. We do not know what the demand for a chef knife will be without testing the waters first.

Therefore, this could be your only chance to score one of these, or they may return in the future, depending upon demand and production capacity.

Given how quickly they sold out, I am optimistic we will see it offered again.

way ahead of ya :)

Made some things like that for the Thin Nick many years ago.

I am up for trying new things though.

You already got yours!?
Hey man, you know I check the "Mopar Express" shipping option. Garth has a Hemi! ;) but no pic kinda dik move huh?.... that's what I would be saying I suppose... give me a minute

Nice handle, sweet heel drop, great for a knife like this. You can tell it's not stamped out sheet steel. I see this clocking in on Turkey day :D
