Symbols of the American West Eaten by Rich Foreigners

Ndns worked soft metals, though? I don't know much of their state of metallurgy.

Now tell the truth, as the Elders relate, how the first True Bent Blade was handed down from the Sky People,

A "Khukuri Creation Myth" thread might be a great topic for a slow day... all due respect to Bishwakarma, who loves us greatly.
Yep, copper was commonly worked among the northern tribes! I still lust after a copper Beaver Tail Dagger I saw in a museum in Montana when I was 16 years old.

The Khukuri Creation story has already been done. It came from the clouds 10,000 feet up in the Himalaya's.:D

Ndn health care could kill anyone.
Unless the tribe is one of the rich gambling consortium's, the poor groups have it rough.

I forgot to reply about the loss of the wild horse. Yes, I agree it's the cattle people, just like they're doing the same thing near Yellowstone with the buffalo and their claims of the buff carrying brucolitious(sp).

But like the buffalo the wild horse will survive in small lots in small places just like my people have done. Speaking of my people there are nearly 300,000 enrolled Cherokee now I think. If I would get off my lazy ass and trace down my ancestory there would be one more. It's the shltz Having to Prove you are something although I do support the tribes right to do so unlike some azzholes I know of.

They want on the rolls for the benefits not even understanding how damned meager they are! NDN health care sucks thoroughly!!!!

However thanks to the Casinos things are improving all over for the ndn people, much to the displeasure of those same azzholes because they're not getting any of it. HEE as my friend Tsimi would say.:D

I love the hell out of the fact that the Native Americans are finally getting some $$ out of gambling, for years white folks preyed on the weaknesses of Natives it's only fair that now they are getting a little back! I was hearing Arnold Swarzenagger complaining about Indian gaming in CA and I couldn't help but think that it was interesting that his relatives were Nazis who exploited another minority group and now here he is in the US complaining about another minority group for getting back a little of what was STOLEN from them!

There's a place in East Tennessee that is known for Copper. The Cherokee had mined and used it there for centuries. Sometimes they were turned to amulets and some of those were used to judge the purity of water.

Yvsa, some of the Burmese look a lot like Tsalagi. Not all of them, just some from the more Northern areas. Don't know the story on that one.

Of course, I've had one of the old ones tell me that at one time, all the continents were connected....

Uwinv they were and according to science it is true as well. Personally I think human beings have been around a lot longer than anyone can know and that they have been here since the continents were connected.
That's another reason I go along with the, "We are here for we never left. Hayv." saying. Hayv in Cherokee means, "It is true!":D

It's pretty much been proven, and has been too my satisfaction, that the old oral traditions are a helluva lot more accurate than many people gave them for a time.
Our oral traditions say we came from here and I will always believe that.:D
But I also believe that there was some immigration as well and that there was a lot of intermarrying going on.
That could be due to raids, trade, or what have you but the ndn people never saw color as an obstacle for having a mate.
What's interesting too me is that there doesn't seem to be any of the original race of redmen left in Asia proper, at least that I know of.
Perhaps it was because of the intermarrying, I dunno. ;)

I think I heard somewhere that the folks native to Siberia (not from Muscovy or the Rus) are pretty close. Could be wrong.

Let alone some of the other intoxicants my people had long ago.:D

Got a good chuckle from that, thanks. :) Civilian life keeps looking better and better. ;)

Well, noone ever said that Asians and Native Americans are the same people, but they do seem to share some physical characteristics that Caucasians dont. (such as shovel shaped incisors and the "mongoloid spot" a blue mark on newborns that goes away soon after birth, also the DNA shows a direct ascendancy)

14,000 years is a long damn time ago. Peoples bodies change quickly, culture changes quickly.

Personally, I do believe that some of the oral traditions have something to teach us, but some of them are just sheer ignorance and in some cases, racist.

(Like the Book of mormon)

I don't know. As I was reading I accidentally bit my mouth with my shovel shaped incisors. I was so distracted by the pain I lost track of where we were in this thread. Something about eating Caucacian Burgers in France, right?
