That box Elder Burl is sure beautiful. Is that considered a premium cover material similar in price to stag or ivory?

It's a great handle material, I wish it was considered a premium material....:D:thumbup:

This knife is very special. I made it from the ashes from my best friend,
Benny Wilson. He died 9-10-12 from a motor cycle crash in Mississippi.
I was holding Benny when he passed away. Miss you brother, hope the knife would make you proud.

Todd,

I'm sure Benny is proud of the accomplishments you've made in your life and even more proud to be your best friend..and of course he loves the knife!

Sorry to hear that he passed away while riding. It's a tough world out there when you're on two wheels...stay safe out there bud.

I mirror Jake's sentiments Todd. Riding on two wheels is dangerous indeed. Safe travels whenever you're out. Beautiful knife and rest well Benny.

That just completely blew my mind. Probably the best thing I've seen in a long time. So sorry about your friend, but I can't imagine a better tribute.

I assume that isn't something you would want to make for someone else, but if you ever did consider it I have my dad's ashes sitting in my office at my house. He taught me the love of knives, so I can't imagine a better idea than this.

Again, still picking my jaw up off the ground. Such an amazing idea and a beautiful knife. Your friend would be proud. Thanks for sharing this.

Wow Todd! I was look at the scales trying to figure out what they were made of before I read your comments....I was unprepared for your story about this knife....shocking and wow all at once. What a bittersweet honor to have made that knife.

Todd,
Benny would be VERY PROUD of Your Tribute to Him.
This is the FINEST KNIFE I have ever seen.
Thank You for sharing the photos of Your GREAT FRIEND.

ATS-34/amber stag/3.5"

One of Todd's earlier pieces of work but just as nice and solid. Was immediately drawn to the satin finish on the blade and the brushed rat tail bolsters.
Very nice full hollow grind and the amount of blade that fits into the handle is astounding.
I enjoy Todd's hand rubbed satin but this brushed satin is more forgiving on use in my eye.

That might be the smallest non-miniature Davison I've seen yet, Tim. I need to get one in that size.

Haha Davisons come out in miniatures Joe? :O I really like this compact size. Same size as a GEC no. 15 barlow.
The stag provides plenty enough width for a very secure and nice feeling in hand.

I made a few I called Pee Wee's, I don't make them any more.

Here is a custom order just finished.

Ah well I feel lucky to have one then. Definitely a great size and build Todd.

Your signature stripers are amazing and no easy feat. Yellow and blue, colours of my past town Lexington.

I feel so inadequate when I come in here. Inadequately prepared to see such beautiful pieces.
The Benny is a super way to tribute a fallen friend. Very nice work.

I can only hope my wife would commission something like from my ashes.
On a lighter note, she did tell me she was going to have me made into a diamond. Should I tell her I'd prefer being a knife? (Rhetorical question there...no one has to answer.)
