Great little flippers! Fit and finish is excellent. Milling on both the full titanium and G-10 assure a good grip. Nice light, narrow, trim and slim package. The flipper action needs a full light switch motion since the detent is not that strong (the blade will not fall out without the flipper) and the flipper tab is fairly low profile (less leverage). It's very smooth and the M390 blade is centered, nice grind and very sharp.

Since I have both the G-10 and full titanium I definitely prefer the blade of the G-10 since it doesn't have the hole nor swedge. My ideal one would be the G-10 blade on the full titanium handle. I may try that...

G-10 weighs 2.37 ounces and the full tutanium 2.87 ounces. Blade length is 2.9 inches.

Pictures later...

The G-10 models should sell well since I think the price at U.S. dealers should be around $200-$225.

Yours doesn't have a screw in the top of the G-10 blade? Mine does, which is a little disappointing because I remember reading it wouldn't. Otherwise it seems like a great knife so far.

G10 versions will be a normal flipper knives, no any screw in the top of the blade.

Sounds like there wasn't suppose to be a screw on the G10 versions

I ordered a black G10, but I received a a pink G10 instead :( Fit and finish is excellent and it was way lighter than I imagined.

My orange G-10 model does not have a screw on the spine. Looks like you got the wrong blade!

It's interesting, if one looks at the integral (non-removable) flipper models in the 2015 catalog, it appears that one can see a small nub of a screw head where the flipper would go. I can't tell for sure because the photo angle is more for the blade profile. I may be completely wrong, but I thought a removable thumb stud was discussed as an option for this model at one time.

Anyway, I received mine today and am very happy with it. Fit and finish are excellent and the flipping action is very smooth. If I can get it together, I'll post pictures later on. Mike

May I see a photo of the screw hole in a blade without the thumb stud?

Mine looks like Ram's -- the hole is too small for the screw.

You need to remove the screw on the blade spine first and then screw on the thumb disc. I did that on mine without any issues. I may keep the thumb disc on.

It's a terrific EDC flipper.

You will have the right color immediately, sorry for the mistake. A lot of confusion in theese days in LionSteel.

Gianni,

Your website has the weight of the G-10 model at 2.26 ounces and the titanium one at 2.19 ounces. However, when I weighed mine the G-10 was 2.37 ounces and the titanium 2.87 ounces.

When do you expect U.S. dealers like BladeHQ and KnifeCenter to have TRE in stock?

Will you have gray and jade (transparent) G-10 colors?

Will you have an intermediate model with full titanium but flipper only?

Will you have TRE titanium with Chad Nichols Stainless Steel Damascus blades (Raindrop, Fate and Lizard)?

Again, congratulations on the deserved TRE win!

Thanks.

Sno,
Don't fix it. You have an anomaly and might add collector value, like coins and stamps that are struck or printed erroneously. I'd put that one in the safe and order another to use. Then sell yours at a premium down the road!!

Congrats on your unique TRE. I hope I get one tomorrow when my orange G10 arrives.

Cheers,

RkyMtn

For those who now have their knives, does the width between the handles offer any hope of supporting the use of standoff as opposed to the backspacer currently being used? (Gianni, here is s great opportunity to supply accessories for this knife, like Hinderer does for the XM-18 knives!! You could make a set of matching Ti anodized standoffs, thumb tab, flipper and pocket clip.)

Love my Ti -- already want a second.

But I wish they came with the thumb disc installed -- that hole is tiny!

Love my black G10 model! To get it to open consistently, without much effort or wrist action, I had to loosen the pivot screw slightly, and lube the pivot, etc., with Gun Butter (my favorite lube). No side-to-side blade movement open or closed (without the lock engaged), and the blade is perfectly centered.

The rounded spine of the blade is a very nice touch. Reminds me of my TRK K-1 fixed-blade. Parts of the inner surfaces of both the G10 and Ti sides are milled out, by the way.
