This is the top of a storage box I made for my knives last summer. It's got this glass covered display area on the top and 3 drawers below. When I designed it last spring I underestimated the number of knives I would acquire in 2021 and I'm already running out of room. The top here contains an ever-changing group of my current favorites.

Very nice Mark! Don't let the size slow you down. Should be easy to build a bottom box of just drawers and stack 'em. 2022 has some promising knives in store.

Yes, I can expand it with more drawers underneath. I just wasn't thinking I would need to do it so soon! My workshop is unheated and I'm near Chicago, so I won't be doing anything until summer.

My main concern is how to add layers without my wife noticing.

Time to revive an interesting thread.

Not so much a pile but a line-up of knives I just took to the country house for a few days. Stag, Wood, Micarta. 2 blades, 1 blade, carbon, stainless, Spear, Sheepfoot, Yatagan Clip. I like them anyway
