Half/Stop Half/Stop -Ron, glad you could join in. That one drawer alone could keep this knife nut happy for weeks... maybe months! It contains several of my favorites; 74, 35s, sowbelly... not to mention barlows, 48s, Northwoods, and so on. Quite a pile! Thanks for posting!:thumbsup:
Thanks! :) There is no method to the organization of the drawers. I bought cork to make new bottoms so I can get rid of or cover the green felt. There was several comments on here awhile back about the felt not being good long term.

Half/Stop Half/Stop -Ron, I believe we have the same H..... F..... machinist chest and cork may be the ticket.
I covered the original felt with a drawer liner designed to keep things from sliding around. It began to deteriorate so I purchase some quality felt, tested it and brass knives began to change color. My next hope is in cork, let me know your results.

Unfortunately, mostly what I have are in piles while I do an inventory. One day . . .

Here's a picture of Ron ( Half/Stop Half/Stop ) pretending to shake my hand while he tries to grab a pile of my Queens.

Stuart if I didn’t know you better I’d think you were trying to tarnish my stellar reputation! I wouldn’t begin to know what to do with all of those beautiful Queens! Seriously speaking my friend, you have inherited a tremendous treasure in all those beautiful knives! :D

Thank you for your indulgence and understanding, Ron, but it is in your friendship and the fellowship associated with being on the Porch that my inheritance has revealed its truest value. That is my treasure.

Well said my friend! I am in total agreement with that Stuart. :) There is a thing that we find on The Porch that goes much deeper than the depths of our pockets. It's called friendship!

My piles are evolving from earlier in this thread. The "To do" bench as it stands right now.

Besides the knives getting ready to be glued up we have a couple of piles of misc leather orders.

I tend to do a batch of those all at once and did yesterday. Just some finishing touches this morning (rubbing edges and putting the finish on) and they are ready to ship. A belt, several sheaths, mag holder and a couple of flag boots. Flag boots ya say, whats a flag boot? Its a dealie that straps to the outside of the stirrup and helps allow those rodeo queens to carry the flags when they race around the arena. The butt of the flag pole rests in there. This one is for Miss Rodeo California:

But wait look at this big bad boy! He's here from The Porch to get a couple sheaths. Yep he won't slip down into the watch pocket of your jeans.

So next step on this pile?

Is to process this pile of bolster material and get em stuck on those blades:

Piles and piles.

Yes sir it does. redsparrow redsparrow Ripped through that pile of paperwork yesterday morning and then hit the bolster material pile. Got them all processed and drilled and had a couple of hours extra before we were heading out to the ranch to to look for some cattle. So the wife and I sat down and put all the bolsters on the 37 knives in this batch that were getting them. Handles start today. Some highlights from the morning pile of leather:

Still on the to do table, getting their edges rubbed. The top ones are finished. I use a wood lathe with a piece of rosewood that has different sized grooves turned in it for this.

Then we move over to the leather bench and apply the finish. They are done. I've been using this finish now for probably 15 years. Makes leather look like leather, not leather colored plastic.

Everybody piled up. So these are the orders that were in that pile of papers, minus the two flag boots. The belt was finished the day before.

Of interest for folks around here. Two different belt sheaths for the same knife.

Now continuing on with that pile of knives.

Absolutely beautiful leather work Dave!! Thanks for the update.
Certainly I'm among many who are enjoying these post of yours.
I now know who's making my next holster. Have a great weekend, -James

I did some sharpening, cleaning, and oiling this morning. When I was done, I put everything back in the Knife Box, but I kept this pile out for my "Carries" next week. I've got something for Micarta Monday, Trapper Tuesday, Wooden Wednesday, Tidioute Thursday, Black Friday, and Stag Saturday...

Thanks for starting this thread redsparrow, i have a ever revolving pile on my table beside my recliner that I "play" with. Here is the pile that I brought in last night. Im gonna carry the 73 today. Sorry for the pics but its a reality shot haha!54762.jpeg 54764.jpeg

Here's a pile of canoes I put together for a group shot about a year ago. (I have to confess the pile has grown since then.)
