Tacky 9/11 sale

Thanks for bringing this to my attention as I received the same ad and didn't pay attention until now. I just sent them an email letting them know how I felt about it as well.

I got two emails from them, the first one is a tribute of some sort to those involved in 9/11 with no for sale ads in it. The second email is just titled "never forget" with the sales ad in it but no other mention of 9/11. Title of 2nd email is stupid but I'm not getting where the outrage is coming from.

I'm not outraged about it but using a tragedy to sell something is poor taste.

For the record, I don't think I've ever confused SMKW with a classy establishment.
I don't think anything is beneath them, and that's fine. They're kind of the dirt bags of the knife-sales world.
Half the time I find mistakes in their own internet listings.
They don't care.
I don't care that they don't care.

"Buy a knife or not, we don't care. Also, here's some really cheap foreign-made crap." - SMKW.

... Well color me shocked. I hope Tyler over at Survive! is taking notes.
Well handled, SMKW... even if you're still the mall ninja capital of the world.
Hey, this is a really good thing to see. Thank you for posting their reply

If this is the ad everyone is upset about, the answer is: you are overthinking it and need to take a nap.
The words “never forget” likely don’t mean much to someone who was a toddler at the time. I remember it was a Tuesday and I was in home room in my newly minted sophomore year of high school. I watched a man break down crying the following Sunday in church just trying to read the epistle of the day; his daughter commuted into NYC that Tuesday morning and was lost in the rubble.

You might not get it, and that’s fine, but uttering “never forget” and sending knife deals in the body of the email comes across disingenuous. Make a tribute, or send knife deals. Don’t do both.

So the words "never forget" can never be used in any sort of context without relating to 9/11? Good to know.
