Tacticals Made by Us for Special OPS Forces

Tony,

I hope you are the Tony I just responded to by email. That Tony indicated he had not yet completlely gotten registered on BF. I presume and hope it be you. If so, I wish you to know that I just emailed a copy of your email to me to our SF A. I did this because I thought your email so representive of so many I have been getting. It was, I thought, most representitive and with no cost in excess words.

To the rest of you fine fellows, quit congratulating me. I am no one to be congratulated. It is you. You are the best of the best in my mind and heart.

RL

Roger,

Just a thought, but when the General Officer calls you might ask him if they have any MAC flights going to Afganistan. The MAC flights are military only and would not go through any mail system, military or civilian, no customs, restrictions, etc. It would fly from one miltary base to another. The Spec Ops could be there waiting for it.

Roger I just want to thank you again for everything you're doing both for our SF soldiers and for us makers who wish to do something for the effort.
The same from me Roger. This project is making me feel extremely patriotic and proud to be an American. It's makes you stop and think how truely lucky we are to live in this great country. It makes me feel honored to have a TRUE American hero carry one of my handmade knives. Thank you Roger you are truely a special person. ;)

30 cal,

Ask and you shall receive. Good stuff 30 cal. I am currently awaiting permission to post last email received by our SF A contact. Hopefuly soon.

Scott, this is the real deal because of you fellows and because of ours over there.

Please pay particular attention to LAST sentence of paragraph three. It is heart acking and frustrating to read it and know why they get that impression. It is not our sounds that are heard daily but rather those of the Media. Those not representative of all us but rather only of their own selfish high headed and narrow agenda. It is sad to know they have to hear these things not from the enemy but from our own home. It makes me junk yard dog mad.

"Brother Roger

Man I am excited about these knives and getting them
to my boys. I know that you have heard it a thousand
times but this whole project really means alot to us
out here...

I read on the forum that there are other solid points
of contact for US Service men in other units to pass
any overflow knives from our 13.

I have nothing but respect for all Military working
now serving our country...Special Forces by no means
has a corner on this fight, everyone is knee deep and
kicking ass Rangers, SeALs, STS guys, Regular Army and
especially Marines. I am humbled to be serving along
side such magnificent Americans who risk their lives
day in and out fighting a war quickly loosing support
back home.

I would love to share this program with as many
American fighting men as possible, if I can help by
passing more knives out here just let me know. If
there is a solid point of contact in Iraq then I
definatly recommend sending some that way as well.

Let me know either way.

As for the mailing situation..I haven't had any
problems yet but there are always horror stories about
some rear area guy snatching a package..I will say
that most of the guys who handle our (SF) mail are SF
specific support guys and they are awesome. Mail theft
might be happening in the Regular Army side but once a
package gets to SF even SF support I know sooner or
latter it will make it to us. I'm not dissing Regular
Army..just what I heard, same as you that there are
some problems.

I timed a package and it takes approximately two weeks
for a medium sized one to get here from the West
Coast.. That is, give or take a few days due to
aircraft,weather, flights, resupply, etc.

I will get that WU fixed ASAP sorry again!

Man that sounds awesome with the wider blade! I'll
tell you the truth you suprised me I have been so
caught up in watching this thing happen and so awed by
all the support I never considered getting a knife
myself..

I will carry your blade with pride Roger..and when my
time here is done I will pass it to the next SF guy
who replaces me...and I will have him write you to let
you know your knife is doing good things..and we will
keep passing it from one SF guy to another until this
war is done...with directions that the last guy the
last SF guy fighting in this far off cold place,
carries it back to the good old USA mails it back home
to you in beautiful West Virginia.

Thanks again brother

From a following email:

"I forgot to add ..all said and done, having a G.O.
(General Officer) on your side is ALWAYS a good thing!"

If I may please, I am beginning to get mail wondering about this and that branch of service. I see no overcoming difficullty with that. The fact is I was much like some others here in that I had no contacts or thoughts of how until I met our source. Once our Alpha is saturated and there has been enough overflow to help another operation I have zero problem with knives going to other fighting men or Allie. I can handle all shipping costs to our target goal - out of pocket. In going further I am confident I can recruit local assistance in costing shipping. In saying this I expect and wish for NO MORE than one knife per whether made or donated and ONLY by those that can afford to and ONLY by those not yet making for a service man. I will disclose I am ONLY making ONE. Other than that, let's go get'em.

RL

Roger, I am indeed the Tony you replied to, My registration got confirmed within minutes of sending you the Email.

Like I said, I'm glad to do what I can, I'm just Happy to know some great folks are goint to be using some great knives to serve this great country

Tony

Well, I had a few minutes today, and started forging the blade, decided to use some VG-10 (So I was told by the seller anyways) that I picked up a little while ago. I forged a blade out of this shortly after getting it, and it seems pretty tough, from what I can tell it should be stainless, and seems to hold a decent edge.

The blade is on the right, just rough forged at this point, but I'll get to it within a few weeks.

Tony

By the way, the other thing on the anvil is a wreath of clinker, which is what a blacksmith gets at Christmas when he's been bad, since we'd like getting coal too much ;)

I have made a number of knives for our military as well for some mercs and some allies, some of these were sold and some given but all of them are still in service, I would not be apposed to giving another one if the the time frame is still within reach. Drop me an email and let me know what the current conditions are and I may be able to drop a peice in the mail.

Sorry I would read this whole thread and figure out the answers to my question but I simply do not have time, I am only on for a few minutes a week if that right now (the rest in the shop).

BTW I would also be willing to send a bit o cash along with a blade to help with shipping. I know it can be hard to gather funds and if out of one mans pocket it can be expensive.

Seven so far received. Just got two Kabar. The General got word back that all will be okay so long as it is a proper address. I am emailing the address for confirmation by him and his and hope to hear back soon. Upon hearing back I will ship.

RL

RL,Do they have any Fireman in there group,I have a idea for what I want to make and if they do I would like to designate one to the Chief of the fireman.Got the blade in the oven tempering now.If not I will still send one out.I will let you know when it is finished so you can let me know the address you want it sent to.
Bruce

Bruce, in this instance I don't know exactly what you mean by firemen except what I might think of a fireman here in civie life. This team of operators is SF Alfa with, at least, a medic, demolition, snipers and etc..

For you, if you were to decide to make one, I was kinda hoping yours would go to the recently killed - as mentioned previously, it would be carried by one of the other operators for a month and then presented to his parents. I think the whole thing is described a page or two back within this thread. Anyhow I figured yours would be tops amongst us signed up so far and I felt maybe that would be the one if you decided to jump on in.

RL

I was able to order a Spec Ops sheath from 1SKS. My blade should be back to me by the end of next week. I hope to have it completed in a about two weeks.
