Tacticlol Knives

I can't believe someone that runs a survival school would produce a knife like that

The tracker yeah it's a little stupid but I've acutay seen it put to good use and some people say it's great

But that I mean calling it the grim reaper and those 3 serrations plus the price tag

I guess when your a rough survival instructor you need 3 hummer H3 and 4 rolex watches and a state of the art survival RV with survival marble floors and a survival flat screen with extreme satellite survival TV

That there is Batmans nightvideoramic-holomagraphic-quantumprojection-sonic-rendition-oggle-goggle-uber-device.

And just when the bad guy thinks he's deflected your shooting hand he finds that he's cut his wrist down t the bone and is bleeding out anyway. What a "must have" blade for LEO and CCW citizens. :D

I like Microtech in general, but some of their blade designs are very tacticlol. Random aesthetic serrations on every edge, holes cut everywhere, lines and angles all over the place, etc. At the same time, many of the crazy blade designs "work" on their OTF knives; possibly because they're so skinny and sleek. Definitely getting into mall-ninja territory when their design sensibilities are applied to OTS blades like the one above, however.

I wonder if anyone who sports a pistol bayonet ever forgot it was there and stuffed it in their waistband.

that boker isnt actually that bad, the sub hilt guard helps, and its interesting to see the SE of the CE to be the top portion instead of the bottom

I always thought Strider made some of the absolute best tacticlol knives

Not trying to start a tacticlol debate or anything, but more tacticlol than this:

Coincidentally, I love the ZT0302 (and have nothing against the SNG/SMF knives), but that super-fat belly and near 90 degree tip has always bugged me (and the tiger-stripe). I've always thought the knife would be a lot more useful with a more pokey tip, and slightly slimmer grip.

Can someone seriously tell me how that Civilian has any "utility" purpose at all? It's just as ugly as the rest of the knives on this thread, borders on "mall ninja" if it has to come with a card telling you it's self-defense only, and did I mention how ugly it is?

I refuse to give Spyderco a pass just because they're Spyderco. And I don't understand people who insist it's okay because a company with a rock solid reputation made it rather than someone like Mantis who have a rep for overly "tacticool" designs.

The civilian has a very specific purpose.
Do you have one? -- if not, follow along.

the curve of the blade is organic. it is a generalized organic shape that is found on the human body in very specific places. The wrist and arm, the shoulderblade the neck, the ankle, etc. you do not need to "attack" with the knife, nor be skilled -- random forward slashing without knowing what you are doing produces a flurry of insanely deep cuts. if you are grabbed a pulling stroke on the assailants hands or exposed wrists will cut them to the bone. grabbed from behind and the same situation - this time it could be the shoulder which will hit an artery quite easily.

Yes, the knife LOOKS mean and that is going to give it a "cool" factor but that knife has 1 purpose only and it isn't to serve as a "knife" per se - more like a last resort. I have an original one - the one with the Kraton inlay. when you take that knife and you see that the curve sits on your wrist, it gives me shivers thinking what a powerful slash or "twist" would do to someone...it would cut them to the bone 360 degrees around their arm... as a detriment - this is a much more powerful tool than any other knife in this scenario, and it requires absolutly no training to use it effectively.

+1 The Spyderco Civilian is a purpose built knife. Purpose being to slice and dice an assailant, when used by relatively untrained owners - with extreme prejudice!!

I must agree.

That said...the result of any blade used in SD would induce shivers to most people. Knives are a very messy and horrific way to deal with an attacker.

I do not want to derail this serious thread with off topic discussion though;)
