Tacticlol Knives

IMO spydero has some goofy knives like the civilian... which i feel people are only defending the brand not the design itself

Not having a go at you, but after skimming this thread, and reading some of the earlier trash posts about the civillian feel the need to say something.

As it has been said, the knife was designed for LEO's as a last ditch self defence weapon, the fact it was designed for people with no knife experience, and the name however suggest otherwise (for civilian use).

Either way it was designed to suit a particular function, of a defensive panic weapon. Confronted with a life and death situation, one would hope the sheer stature of the knife would deter a would be attacker, but if not one could effectively defend themselves and get away from the situation. Someone said it was designed with maximum damage / deadly force in mind, also untrue, it is designed to slash and disable, allowing one to escape potential danger, not as an offensive killing weapon. Reverse s curves are also very effective trappers.

If you cant tell the difference between a finely engineered spyderco and some 5" rhinestone laden automatic zombie killing pocket chainsaw then perhaps YOU are the "mall ninja".
Their reputation precedes them for good reason.

Wow, the Mutilator is a bad one. Bet it's super fast in hand with those speed holes. Edged for the enemy - but with a studded handle for your pleasure.

it is and its glorious imagine how much more effective that is on a enemy then a rifle

Pug-Butter posted the picture the Miltner-Adams knife-like object. I just saw the video though and thought it deserved to be seen, since it's completely ridiculous all on it's own. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ifv9ZNMw9Os&feature=related

I think the best part of that video is that the narrator sounds a lot like Rex, the guy who teaches Rex-Quan-Do in Napoleon Dynamite. Hard to believe anyone would talk like that if they weren't trying to be funny...

Yeah, I believe that's how tough guys sounded in the 80's.

Serrations and a guthook on a black-coated Wharncliffe blade. Because big game hunters sure love them some serrations and belly-less cutting edge.

That rifle knife (KNIFESTI M4 CQB ) is a true abomination. :barf:

The Miltner Adams MA-4II is an excellent hideout blade IMO. I'd buy the "all S30V" model in a heartbeat if the price wasn't $350, which is way out of line. I'm thinking $150 is more on target. The smaller model would put you into issues if you have larger or chunkier hands.

I think one could be commissioned by a maker here (tweak the design a smidge) and use a kydex sheath with holes for tie-downs and set at a width that would allow for mounting a G-clip in various positions. That definitely would make a great SHTF fixed blade.

You missed a digit there. It's actually $3500.

EXPLOSION BONDS.

I don't know how that knife is being marketed but to me that looks more like a rope-cutter rather than a guthook. I could easily see that design of knife being used as an emergency tool, perhaps something carried in the trunk of ones car or the cab of ones truck. Anyone who's ever had their tires stuck in mud and has had to collect brush to shove under the tire for traction knows how valuable a "trunk" knife can be.

I think one improvement to the overall package would be a cut-out in the scabbard that would allow a person to use the rope-cutter without having to un-sheath the knife. Such a feature might be especially beneficial if the rope-cutter was being used as an emergency seat-belt cutter.
