Tacticlol Knives

Cant speak on "production" tact's but Ive seen what plenty of homemade ones do to a person in real life.(throughout a career in three prison systems). You would be amazed at what a razor blade out of a cheap desposable razor melted into a tooth brush head does..I saw one guy make it all of 7 steps before he bleed out.(most aint that lucky though).
After seeing actual knife fights and people die from said fights Id say a tactical knife needs to be....
1. Bigger than the other guys :D
2. Tapped to your hand, because after the first bad lick people tend to drop their knife and retreat(if possible)..
3. Sturdy....
More than anything you need to know how to use it and have the balls to use it in the first place...
Then after you see a real knife fight and see just how much blood is actually in the human body you'll pray to god that your never actually in one. Then after that you'll forget about carrying a fighting knife, because you'll remember how long it took those poor sob's to die after carving each other up..You'll carry a sidearm and be done with it :D:D:D

Ok people , be honest , who is buying Dark poops knifes ?? I have yet to find a person with dark ups knife or even better dark-poops fan . but they still in business . some one buying it :D

Right on. These places stay in business by making and selling product...perhaps they sell other items besides knives, but rest assured successful businesses survive by only continuing practices that result in making money.

OTOH I suspect that most buyers of many of the products shown in this thread do not frequent this forum.

For the record, I once bought a Tac. knife that said "SWAT" on the blade, it was a combo edge tanto...that was way before I started lurking forums and became a bit more schooled in my taste for knives.

I'll admit to thinking that my Smith and Wesson SWAT knife was the best thing ever a few years back...:barf:

That's what I thought when a friend gave me one. It actually kindled my interest in folders and started me googling folders which brought me to BF. I bought my first spyderco and it's all downhill after that. :D

Speaking of tacticlol. this.

This thread makes me appreciate my knives more! My BK-9 is a big nasty knife, tactical too (they call it the 'combat bowie') - but my favourite thing about it after reading this thread is that it does not look ridiculous! The blade shape is simple but effective, with no goofy angles or anything. I personally like Becker & ESEE blades, they look like what blades should look like - simple, elegant & functional rather than retarded, ridiculous & weird.

On the positive side some of the knives in this thread did give me a wee chuckle.

I consider my ESEE Junglas & Busse BWM tactical as well. Both the same size but the Busse is cooler IMHO. I'm used to handling large blades. Once your wrists get strong enough to twirl a full size katana in one hand, a 10.5 inch "chopper" is just another combat knife.

I do wish they had tail fins, shark fins and spiked studs mounted on them to protect my non-pasty old arm though. :D

I have a large S&W swat I got in 1999 at a gas station for ten bucks. I have used and abused that knife. It was my edc until about a year ago when the Byrd Cara Cara took that spot. I still carry the Smith for rough jobs and it has yet to fail. It is claimed 440c. I don't know if it is but it holds a fair edge and as I said it has never failed to do the job. Having said that it is a bit tacticlol, hence the all stainless Byrd.

Oh man, the Dork Ops marketing department is in true form here: "Used properly it can generate the last earthly sensation a terrorist feels on a quick trip to the hereafter."

Good news people, this little hunk of 4 ounce steel is going to win the war on terror for us! I feel safer already! For its next trick, it should maybe clean up the gulf oil spill...

lmao!!

actually the knife I carry as a karambit prolly fits right into this thread:

Yeah, it's kinda odd lookin', but nothing is out of place. Looks like it's pretty serious actually...

On the other hand this one might have a better appearance, but functionally WTH? A folding karambit with a ball detent "pendant" sheath that doesn't really appear to have a backward grip.

That Scorpion knife seems like a one type of use knife but maybe thats just me... It does look interesting and the blades edge is in a different spot than a typical karambit. The Mantis knife just pisses me off. its so huge with that giant "pendant thing" it has far more material than it really needs.

But he said it comes with a card that says "NO" to utility...

Futility is something it has in spades. It's decidedly un-pokey, has no hilt or choil... OK, so it's "slasher only"?

As far as passing the test of time... Has one ever been used successfully? I mean, lived up to it's one intended purpose?

I'm embarrassed for Spyderco.

Knives totally suck for defensive purposes, but this one seems even worse than most.

Let the lambasting of me begin...

Are you? Really?

I agree with him...

this thread is about knives you find over the top, or plain ol' ugly.

I have seen many spydercos that look like they got hit by every ugly branch when they fell out of the tree.

It's all a matter of opinion.

No, this thread is about goofy, supposedly tactical knives that are such a joke that they make you laugh. OP: "Tacticlol Knives"

LOL - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaLOL, an abbreviation for laughing out loud, laugh out loud, or sometimes lots of laughs, is a common element of Internet slang. It was used historically on

These remarks (see first quote) were about the Spyderco Civilian in case you joined us late. The Civilian is a dedicated self defense knife - in it's niche, and the proper hands, a very beautiful (not ugly) example of a folding knife that's a deadly weapon. The Civilian doesn't make me laugh. I don't own one but I will soon. ;)
