Here is a photo of the beginnings of my knife that Tai is making for me. The wootz blade is 7 1/2" long by 2" wide. This knife will have silver guard and fittings. The sheath will be made by Chuck Burrows.

More photos to come.

That looks like it will be a really outstanding piece, Tai Goo's work is very unique and extremely desireable in my book. Is the handle coloured in anyway?

OK - Wasn't sure if it was my eyes or aging monitor, glad you see red aswell, I can put off that trip to the doctors. :)

That's not a blade shape that I have ever seen from Tai before, yet it is very obviously a Tai Goo blade. He's one of the few makers out there that doesn't need to mark his blades - everything he makes seems to be in a style that is uniquely his. I am looking forward to this one. This and the Bradshaw are a heck of a one-two punch.

Roger

Roger is right, Tai has a style all his own, super cool knives.
Keith, this will be a great knife, looking forward to more pics.

Thanks, Don Hanson lll

Most excellent, dude! ;)

You KNOW I am a fan of Tai's work. Here you go. I could tell that as a Tai blade from across two nations.... :D

Looking forward to more.

You must be incredibly pleased with your purchasing decision. Top notch photography, BTW.

I can not wait to see this one come about.

That looks like it will be awesome. I have a bush Bowie of his, the one with the ring pommel, and they work as good as they look. It's almost frightening how well it chops, and how little handshock there is.

Tom, keep this under yer hat, his real name is Seamus O'odham from an almost extinct tribe of Sonoran Desert Leprechauns.( see Christmas photo)You see them ocassionally in the early morning hours and at dusk leaping, I mean it ,really leaping from cholla cactus to cholla cactus. No one knows why but it is thought to be because of the desert plant diet they traditionally eat. Lots of "cactus juice" and succulents. If you don't believe me just look at the pics of his yard. It's a Sonoran Leprechaun Disneyland I'm telling you.

Mr Goo would not be happy to hear that you're saying that his son was originally named this whatchamacallit "Seamus O'odham"...

Tai's work is out of this world...

Tai's father was the reknowned sculptor Ben Goo. Somewhere I heard he was Hawaiian?

Not sure about Tai's dad, but Tai, a good freind, actually found severtecher's post extrememly funny.... he sent it to me before it was posted here after I pointed him to Tom's question.......

I haven't heard differently from Tai, but his dad Ben Goo is still sculpting at the age of 82....Here is at last years Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program

Well, we can all rest assured then that the sheath will be as impressive as the knife. Chuck, you do some of the best.

Tai's work IS out of this world and ,fortunately, in my backyard here in the Great Sonoran Desert. So is his Dads work ssome of which can be seen in Tucson at the Davis Dominguez Gallery north of downtown. Mr. Goo Sr. has a wonderful sculpture in front of the Mesa Civic Center, home to the Arizona Knife Collectors Assoc. annual show. Both men great artists and educators.
