Of the giveaways I’ve done here in the past, one of the ones I’ve enjoyed the most was my ‘Take Your Pick!’ giveaway - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1191610-Take-Your-Pick!-We-have-a-winner! This used the format of an old British game show from when I was a kid, where contestants could choose to ‘Take the money!’ or ‘Open the box!’ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Take_Your_Pick!) I’d like to do a similar giveaway for you fine folks here.

First, the ‘Gold’:

I have an unusual Arthur Wright & Son Lambsfoot in Oxhorn, and have managed to obtain another, which is actually better than the one I have myself (shown above) I think, having golden oxhorn covers on both sides. The winner will be drawn from my recently acquired Harris Tweed flat-cap! :D They then get a choice, they can take the golden Oxhorn Lambsfoot, or they can ‘Open The Box!’

The Box!:

I store some of my collection in tool-boxes with multiple plastic drawers, like this one:

Into the drawers of one of these units, I will share out the following knives (maybe a few more):

If our winner chooses to ‘Open The Box’, they give me two numbers, and they win the knives contained in the drawers which correspond to those numbers.

This giveaway is open to all regular posters to Traditionals. You must have at least 25 posts here to qualify. Simply post ‘I’m in’ to enter. If you would like to say a little about yourself, any other hobbies or interests you have, if you have kids, whether you drink or smoke, for example, you may get a few extra bits and pieces in your winning package ;) If you want to post a pic, feel free. You can post as many times as you like, your first post is your entry, and the draw will be by name rather than post number.

Good luck everyone, and thanks for all the kindness, generosity, and friendship I’ve experienced here in abundance, and for everything I’ve learned :)

And if you haven’t read them already, please read the sub-forum posting guidelines! ;)

I'm in Jack. We now know that I drink red wine, don't smoke cigars any longer. Retired from a 40 year career in, homebuilding. I have two kids ages 35 and 32 and three grandkids, which I am quite happy about; especially when they go home:D

By the way; thank you for doing another of these. It's about time I got on my horse and did my part. Will be thinking about that.

LOL! Great stuff Alan :D

I am in! Something "interesting" about me is that I love history, especially church history. I neither drink, nor smoke.

I'm in! I have a one year old daughter, I work at a bank, and I am a casual drinker. Besides knifes, my other hobby is fly fishing.

I'm in!!! Such a cool giveaway... Some things about me, hmmm... well, despite what my username says I'm not really a "kid" anymore. I'm a husband and father of two young daughters who loves to fish, canoe and camp. Relatively new to firearms... never had them around as a kid but now own a Glock for plinking and personal defense and a Franchi 20 gauge I hope to take out grouse and pheasant hunting one of these days. I've been into fishing and knives my whole life and (hopefully) will be able to pass those interests down to my daughters when the get older. I used to be a big back-country snowboarder but I haven't done that in a decade due to a bad back. One surgery down and another on the horizon might change that though! I used to smoke, for many years in fact, but quit cigarettes last year... I still use a vape every now and again to curb nicotine cravings but hope to faze that out here soon. Thanks again for the wonderful giveaway!

What a fun give away! I'm in, please.

I enjoy running, particularly trail running. This time of year, though, most of my runs are on the pavement and in the dark, usually before dawn.

With the lengthening days I'm looking forward to a special treat that shouldn't be too many weeks away. My regular week-day route takes me over a steep hill as I begin the final mile. The reward for cresting it is an unobstructed view of the San Fransisco Bay. When the timing works out such that the sun is just coming up over the hills on the other side of the Bay, it's a magical experience that I cherish.

Thank you for the opportunity, Jack. Good luck to everyone who enters.

Hmm, great idea for a gaw!Im in.

Im 27. I dont drink anymore, i went a little overboard and havent had a drink in about 3 years. Used to smoke 3 packs of cigarettes a day, but ive been using an ecig for the past 2 years or so and have noticed serious inprovement in lung capacity. For work i install, repair, and service fire suppression systems and fire extinguishers.

Not married and no kids, but soon i hope.

For fun i play video games, fish(thoughi havent been able to for about 4 years), and go hiking and camping.

Ouch. I'm newly inspired by traditional folders, but nowhere near the number of posts needed. Thanks for the kick in the pants to participate more. :)

I can't remember what game theory says about this kind of problem but I do know game theory can get bent when the known quantity is the knife pictured for the Gold choice. I'm not qualified for entry. I just wanted to say the gold prize is something special and this is a really neat way to have a very generous giveaway. Good luck to all that enter!

Thanks I'm in!

I've redeveloped an interest in traditional blades. They were kind of the only choice when I got my first knives but I rapidly changed interest to the more cutting edge modern knives as the suited my daily use better.

I'm a lifelong non-smoker who does enjoy a drink now and then in all it's forms. Beer, wine, whisky, all has its time and place. I live out in the country in an area said to be similar to the North of England with a wife, a couple kids and a couple dogs.

Now years later I've looped back and have started spending time with the old timey knives again. The last few recent threads on horn handled knives raised an interest in that material so the knife here is a real gem. Thanks for the chance.

Jack, this is a tremendous GAW with a very fun and exciting twist to it! Thank you for your continued champion-level generosity. That Ox Horn is gorgeous, and I just know that there are many treasures waiting in those drawers.

I'm not a man of many hobbies. Working the crazy hours of construction for the last 8 years doesn't allow for much devotion to hobbies that take time, energy, or physical locations. Adding in buying a house a year ago, having an 8 month old little girl, and keeping a happy wife for the past two years kind of lead to my rekindled my interest in knives. I can easily browse the web, converse and learn with/from you fine folk, and have my knives delivered to my doorstep. I grew up around race cars and photographing them. It was a huge part of my relationship with my father. Don't have a ton of time for either of those unfortunately. My wife grew up camping, and I would really love to be able to do that with out little girl in the future. I've never been camping, myself, so I'm sure that I would be just as excited as her!

Thank you, again, Jack. Good luck to all entrants!

Count me in Please! I'm married with two sons, 12 and 15 years old. I've loved pocket knives since I was about their age, almost 40 years ago. I've worked in the limestone fabrication industry for 33 years. I'm also involved in our local chapter of Pheasants Forever, where we try to get kids outdoors and teach them shotgun safety and fundamentals.

I'm in. This looks like fun..

What knife is in the last picture, top row, third from the right? Squared/grooved covers with screws.. looks interesting.

Not an entry, just wanted to thank you for doing this.

I'm in! That's a beautiful lambsfoot, but the mystery is also quite intriguing...

Funny that this should come up, as I'm actually taking the month of February off from drinking. I figure I owe my body a break from at least some of the ways I mistreat it, and being the shortest month I shouldn't have any problems abstaining for a mere 4 weeks!

Great game Jack! I'm in.

University leaves me little time for any serious hobbies, I do sing in an octet though, which I enjoy a lot. I'm a social drinker, a big beer enthusiast -- mostly lager (regular, mixed or dark) and Weißbier. I don't like ale. Giving up smoking every week for the past few months, I guess I'm not willing enough. I preffer tea to coffee, which is a rather strange habit in my country. We have a vineyard at home, which isn't as much fun as it may sound.

I'm in! Married for 5 years and I've got my first child on the way. We're having a son and even though I'd have been overjoyed either way, I'm really looking forward to bringing him up in the Boy Scouts. (Nothing wrong with the Girl Scouts but it's hard to find a high adventure troop.) Like so many here I really enjoy the outdoors anyway I can get it; gardening, mushroom hunting, foraging, hiking, you name it. When I can't be outside, I like reading and working on my house. I love a good porter and I can never keep Laphroaig around for long. I miss smoking dearly, it was a cherished habit for over 10 years of my life. Ahh, to open up my pouch and roll up some good tobacco again.. but asthmatics really shouldn't smoke. Instead, I play with knives. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
