What the heck - I'm in! Very generous and unique GAW!

So a little about myself: I enjoy photography and am always trying to improve - I certainly learn a lot here. I don't smoke but enjoy a nightly snort or two of whiskey. Married with four kids and the youngest two (twins) still in college, one studying in Greece.

""don't smoke but enjoy a nightly snort or two of whiskey. ""

Great post. Vaporstang. I enjoy a sip or two of wine nightly myself[emoji3][emoji3]

I'm in - "going for the gold" as it were. ;)
no 2 legged children, a pair of 4 legged ones, though: an Australian Shepherd (the American version) and something that looks a lot like a miniature black bear (all 95 pounds of him)
gave up smoking over 20 years ago, but am willing to partake of the occasional pint or wee dram.

thanks for the generosity and the chance!

Hi Jack. I will enter, thank you for the chance. Great giveaway idea.

I have a wonderful wife and 4 great kids. I am very lucky and they are the joy of my life. The kids take up most my time outside of work with sports and activities. So much for other hobbies....I do love to fish and the outdoors in general. I tend to drink beer, but Whiskeys are my favorite.

I've long admired your lambsfoot thread. I am in for the gold!

I'm in
I been married 21 years and we got our only one in College. I been carrying a pocket knife since I was 5 years old.

I'm in! I do not have a proper lambsfoot, so going for gold!
I have 5 children, enjoy Moto GP and TT Isle of Mann racing. I play piano, guitar, and trumpet. I have a small, odd coin collection from friends and family who have travelled. I worked 22 years with flat glass, cutting and fabricating. My Dad and I enjoy old hot rods at shows. I have an occasional beer or two, and enjoy knife shows with knife buddies.

I'm in!

My kids are all grown, now I have eight grandkids (so far).

Hobbies outside knives include fountain pens and coins. I like to spend all my spare time wandering around in the mountains.

Jack, this is an excellent giveaway! Count me in!

I've always loved camping and fishing, but haven't done much of either lately. I'd like to get back into that sort of thing as our little girl gets older (she's 6 months old right now). I like a drink as much as the next guy , usually just a good beer, but I also enjoy just about any kind of spirit, and occasionally a glass (or bottle) of red wine. I enjoy smoking cigars, and used to smoke a pipe. My wife and I like going around to flea markets and antique shops on the weekends looking for a random assortment of old stuff. There's no real rhyme or reason to the things we buy, just whatever strikes our fancy; vintage industrial, old advertising/signs, some mid-century modern stuff, who knows what else. I always keep an eye out for old pocket knives, but haven't had much luck around our area finding anything good.

Thanks for the opportunity, Jack!

I would love to be in! This will be fun.

About me..... I'm Jake. I like to hunt.

I like to travel with my wife.

And Camp!

I used to play music alot.... but life got in the way.

I went to the UAE.

My kids.

And I currently live in a dump.

But it could have been worse.

Still hasn't kept us from having fun!

Well, Jack, I'll play along; if only to spread out the odds a little. I still have that lovely Ottley hook you sent me 3-4 years ago. It's not even close to being worn out.

Not much special about me; I spent way too much of my life moving around for work. I bought the place I'm in now with the intention of retiring here and this past four years is the longest I've stayed in one place in over 30. It's kind of grey in the winter but we get some fantastic views when it warms up. The seafood is good, we have a large number of local craft breweries, and the only traffic I ever have to hear is the occasional train or foghorn.

Here's a pic of the annual native canoes coming to the Potlatch. They paddle down from Canada and every tribe sends their own canoe. They have a big get together on the beach about 5 miles from my place.

And here's what it looks like at the end of a pretty nice day;

Come round some time and I'll stand you a pint...

I'm In. Thanks for the chance Jack. Retired Railroader, had just a bit over 39 years in when I pulled the plug end of November '09. No idea how long it's been since I smoked or drank after meds made me stop. Decided a while back maybe I collected knives instead of just accumulated as I ran into something new that struck my fancy. Been raising with my wife (better half) 3 Granddaughters for over 14 years now. Proud 'Nam Vet. Rambled on to where the brain is getting jumbled, so guess I'll get out of here for now and talk more later one subject at a time. Might be the most I've said here any one time. Thought I kept my tater trap shut more and just mostly listened, but that just may be questionable........ Thanks Again All............

New around here so probably don't have the requisite 25 (don't know how to count em anyhow) and was lucky to have picked up a beautiful GEC cocobolo 73 on a recent give away so would have sat this one out anyway.

Short version of my life: am 59 and healthy. Married for a wonderful 28 yrs w/ 2 lovely adult daughters. A microbiologist by trade, I like (in no particular order) good beer, skiing, a certain NHL team, fishing, cars and gardening. My wife and I are going to Vienna in April. We're not international jetsetters but with the girls groewn up that might change some.

Cheers Jack!

It will be such a tough decision if I win, that's a beautiful lamb's foot...But I can't resist a mystery (aaarrrgghh). Thanks for the chance, and sparking some interesting conversation as well.

My hobbies all revolve around gadgets of some sort. Knives, pens, watches, flashlights, lasers...If it has some geek factor (especially vintage geek factor) I'm all over it. Used to smoke some nice meerschaums but just vape now, still enjoy some nice Scotch occasionally. One boy, 14, just picked up a Pioneer X and had his initials engraved on it... Waiting for an excuse to give it to him (I may have to get one for myself, the awl seems mighty handy).

I'm in Jack, thanks for the chance.

What to say about me? I am an archaeology grad student, happily married with one daughter and another child on the way. Honestly, when it comes to hobbies, other than knives, my main hobby is archaeology. I chose this profession because I just wanted to do it all the time. I also like camping and travel, but archaeology helps with that. I get to spend extended periods living in a tent, sometimes I get to travel to exciting places to count rocks, and I get to pore over artifacts in the lab (and if we are being honest, a part of my specialty is with some computers systems, so I spend a lot of time in the healthy glow of a monitor).

Edited to add: my avatar picture is a handmade trowel for excavations made by a knife-making archaeologist friend of mine

I drink. Mostly whiskey, but I also like whisky. And beer (stouts, IPAs, reds, bitters... everything) Unfortunately my stomach isn't as fond of whiskey and beer as I might wish, so my drinking has to stay pretty moderate and not too regular. If it were up to me I would drink a lot more ;) I smoked for 20 years, and I loved it. I love tobacco. I smoked cigarettes, cigars, even chewed when I was younger, but pipes were my favorite. I still have my pipes, every now and then I pull out my old meerschaum and wish I still smoked, but I feel like if I were to let myself smoke a pipe again I would keep finding excuses. I quit when my wife got pregnant because I didn't want to raise my children around me smoking. It is an unhealthy habit, and a cast-iron <nightmare> to quit. I figured I would try to do right by my kids by not modeling bad behavior.

Wonderful GA, Jack!
It's nice how it brings out the humanity of the wonderful people who lurk here!! :)
Not an entry - just an appreciation!:thumbup:

I am in Jack, thank you! This is my favorite thread of the year so far, really cool to get to know some of you better

Little about myself.. I am 36, married for 6 years to a wonderful woman and my best friend Julie. Blessed to be the father of two hilarious, smart, and beautiful daughters.. Mia and Josie. (Josie is my avatar) And proud owner of a little ankle biter named Sprout. For 13 years I have worked as a 911 Emergency Dispatcher and Supervisor with nary a dull moment. We live in the green and very wet state of Washington and love every bit of it. Traditional folders have been my primary hobby for the last two years with some hiking, reading, and all things related to my girls blended in. I don't smoke, but I do enjoy the occasional beer. My true vice is coffee to which I am well and truly addicted :D my new phone does not have many family pics on it but here are a couple of the family
