I'm going to be leaving this forum for a while... I have decreased my contributions over the past few months.. but I think I'm just gonna hit the dusty trail for a while...
To those of you who have helped to shape me in to the (still very amature) woodsman that I am today I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

If anyone should want to keep in touch I can be reached via email at
bushbum75@yahoo.com

THanks again
Best regards

My intention is eventually to return.. Hopefully the dynamic here might be different, and hopefully I will be have gained some more experience as an outdoorsman and will be able to contribute more positively myself.

You've consistently been one of the ones actually out there doing stuff and posting up pics of it. Dunno what exactly drove you to this, don't really care, but it will be good to see more of your stuff up on here if that day arrives.

Keep in touch, my friend. You have my email. I don't contribute too much anymore either. Lack of time and a VIRUS on my computer! Hope to get some winter woods time in myself...

Well, you had some of the best posts, IMO. However, I understand where you are coming from. Take care bro.

Don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out:D:p

Seriously, it sucks that you are taking a leave of absence here.

It has been fun learning from and with you John. Luckily I still get to as you don't live too far away.:)

John, don't stay away too long. I appreciate your posts and insight. We'll have to get more dirttime in soon. We'll be in touch.

Hi John, sorry to hear you will not be around as much. Have fun on your dusty trails.
make sure you stop in once in while and post some pics of your adventures and to tell us about them.

take care John,

Bryan

Thanks guys... You all are some of the good ones.... Definintely in to hang out any time... Take care.. I'll be back

wow.. what a bummer... :( i hear what you mean about the direction that some threads go, such is the nature of forums i guess, i try not to pay too much attention to them..

take of of yourself bro and keep in touch.. don't stay away too long either...:)

cheers.. Mike

Hopefully you will still stop by every now and again. I've learned a lot from you, and it will be awkward not seeing you around at all!

Be well John, Enjoy your travels. I can understand your thoughts, there has been a shift around here.

Paul

Totally understand, I have to do the same sometimes. BTW don't tell anyone but I used to be called Runningboar. ;)

Don't stay away to long, just like everywhere else in life there are good folks and bad and you can't let the bad ones keep you down, your without a doubt one of the good uns. Chris

John, Im sorry to see ya go, and I hope you find your way back here. Ive noticed alot of the same things youre talking about. Makes me wonder what happened to the comraderie there used to be around here.

Take it easy man, you got my email, stay in touch.

J

The more I see this thread, the more upsetting it is. So far the guys who have posted in this are obviously not the ones driving contributors like Rescue Riley, Doc Canada, Pict, etc off. Allot of the guys that are full of great info and don't post anymore. Like john I see less Camaraderie and more bickering and posturing then anything else. I enjoy this forum, and I have no problems with disagreements. But I wish people would post in a thread like they were all sitting on the couch having the discussion over a beer. There is no need for disrespect and chest beating. We are all here because we have a common interest that we want to discuss, share, and learn about. At least that's what I thought we were here for....

Anyway, sorry for the mini rant;)

I concur with the others who have said that this is an understandable but unfortunate turn of events. I hope to see you back here soon, RR, and I hope that we can collectively work to raise the tone and content quality of the forum (which is still great, btw).

Enjoy the sabbatical - may it include plenty of woods time!

All the best,

- Mike
