Hey RR, just saw this thread. Sorry to read that you feel you need to leave the campfire. I always like reading your posts, and you help make this a fun forum. Happy trails and I hope you find your way back soon. Nothing here should be taken too seriously, so have fun and report back. I for one will miss you.

Seriously, I know things have gotten more touchy inthe forum lately. I suspect in a lot of cases it is trickle-down (ha!) effects of the economic and political environment.

Go, learn, grow- but don't take too many negative feelings or bad memories with you. things improve over time :D

No problem, I'm sure I deserve it, I don't think I ever personally attacked someone and I never held a grudge.

Some of my breaks are my own free will, others are not, there was and is a great group of guys here, that's why I keep coming back. I'm sure RR will be back also. Chris

RB (because that's what I'm used to and you know us old geezers  )My remarks were made in good fun. I am glad to see you back.

I knew what you said was in fun but thanks for saying it. :D

Your one of the people that make this forum what it is, along with RR and several others, I have never seen you say anything mean spirited. Chris

Chris - It's good to see you here (even incognito), I always enjoyed your posts...

RR - Enjoy your time off. I look forward to your return!

RR, you are one of the good guys around here. You won't know me as I am predominantly a lurker around here, but I will miss your posts.

It is people like you that made hanging around here feel so much like home and a pleasure. I will always remember your generosity, helping members who had lost kit or fallen on hard times.

Please take care of yourself and hopefully we will see you back here again.

G'day RR Whilst I applaud those who want to spend more time doing than talking about it, it appears that's not the sole reason for your break :thumbdn:

On a personal note, I'll pass on something I have noticed about all internet forums. They are frequented by people. As in life in general, there is a full range of personalities often represented including "the good, the bad & the ugly". I think it's a shame that those who come to these forums seeking advice are being deprived of opinions that are based on first hand experience, by the departure of the doers.

I sincerly hope you enjoy your time outdoors and make sure you take your camera with you. I'm looking forward to that time in the future when you decide it's time to return, as I always enjoy pics that show the different natural parts of our world :D

Best wishes for your upcomming adventures

Kind regards
Mick

Good Points. Wisdom in that, yes indeed.

My experience was that I had to get away for awhile, to remember why I wanted to be here.... And I had to be away awhile, so that when I got back, I could make some new habits (looking past stuff). And I had to grow a bit (alot) so that I was not part of the problem. I don't know if any of that fits you... And I am not suggesting it does....

But, I think you will find that everyone goes through their cycles.

So, bon chance with this cycle. Pedal, and pedal well.

I enjoyed your posts!! One of the few that imparts experience and skills without the "Look at me ego, I am sooooo great!!" that have taken hold in some instances at the expense of any realy learning or skills shared.

Have a great time and come back with some wisdom to share!!

God speed from Africa

Aubrey
