I recently got an email from the folks at Mora of Sweden with a picture of the tangs on some of there new models, Thought you folks might beinterested
1) the bushcraft triflex, (same tang as the clipper, and craftsman)
2) all around top Q (same tang as the High q, the 511, and 711)
3 next is the bushcraft force (same tang as the mora 2000 and the other bushcrafters)
4) the chisel

THought it was cool..Hope my fellow mora nerds will enjoy

Whoa....some of those are short!

Ive seen some Moras handle some tough use so thats impressive to me. I like those chisels.

ragweed forge, Bens back woods, and amazon.com
have most of these models in stock..
I have the carbon top Q and the stanless High Q (SLtightly thicker and better f&f)
Both are incredible blades for the money and cut and carve like lazers

Saving away for future reference. Thanks!

is that chisel sharp along both the long and short edges?
I had not heard of that one before this - very interesting!
thanks!

Oh the humanity...
Tell me those blades got handle transplants! (I could have given them such a good home.)

I'm disappointed to see that TriFlex. I have an old TriFlex and it's held up fine, but I would feel better if it was longer and I was hoping they would improve it on the new model.

Thanks for posting the pics!

Thanks for sharing the pic bro. Moras are tough blades.. shows just how tough a knife done right can be.

Interesting. This certainly has me pondering the importance of full tang knives.

I believe the second from the bottom is the Bushcraft Forest, not the Bushcraft Force. The Forest has the green handle and the "peanut butter spreading" blade, the Force has a black handle and a full scandi grind along the whole blade. Which leads me to wonder what the tang is on an actual Force model? I assume that it would be the same as the Triflex, being that both have the full length scandi grind. I've been wanting to get one of the new Bushcraft models, the handles look really comfy.

I'd assume tang is the same because they probably use the same blade blanks.

I'm not so surprised about the triflex tang. Tang were already thick and short on most Frost moras like older triflex (and SWAK) as opposed to Eriksson moras which had long and thin "rat tail" tangs.

Mora 2000 tangs were fairly short compared to knife's overall size but since they reduced blade length when shifting to 2010/bushcraft line...

Despite that I've not had problems with the moras so far. Those plastics are pretty tough.

Thanks for sharing RR, I really like seeing the inner workings of these models. I still impresses me how tough & well designed the Moras are for the money.

Just to shed some light on what a shorter tang knife can do
Here are some pics of me battoning a clipper through a knotted piece of black birch last week.. I;ve had this mora for about 5 years..the blade is practically blac with patina atthis point and it has done it all. from game cleaning to splitting wood (although the latter somewhat conservatively) but it is still going strong.
