Tang pics of the new moras

I wouldn't be to worried about the tangs.

I destroyed 2 mora's on purpose. (to check whether I woudl rely on it). Both times eventually the blade snapped. Not the handle. (I talking about the clipper model, stainless steel).

So if the blade breaks sooner than the handle does, my guess is that the handle is strong enough, though it's not nearly fulltang.

Is there anyone who broke their mora on the handle, leaving the blad intact, anyway?

I think the "fulltang-ness" in SUCH a blade is really overrated.

I have a Craftsman that I have beat up. Used a Clipper for a while with no issues. My current Mora is a now a green-handled 510 & expect no problems with it.

Those pockets shown in the x-rays are probably not so much air as epoxy.

I've only batoned a knife a few times (I believe it was the Clipper?) & all without issues. That said, I usually have a Hatchet or a Machete with me so batoning is not critical to me.

Lately my woodsbumming cutlery has been my Mora 510, a Victorinox GAK, and my GB Hatchet for overnight trips.

RR..... that is a GREAT post. I''m glad it was resurrected. Thank you!!!!!!!

I'm going to buy one of the HighQ carbon (red). I do alot of goose/duck hunting as well as fly fishing. Looks as though it will be a great neck knife.

Open to question to anyone (so I don't have to dig into a Mora line in which I'm not interested :p)...

What is the third knife in this pic? The OP says Bushcraft Force. Bladite begs to differ and says Bushcraft Forest.

It's the Forest. I have the Force, and the blade shape resembles the Triflex (top knife). The Forest has the Mora 2000 blade shape. That being said, I've heard from a few people on this forum (can't remember which thread, might be this one!) that the Force has the longer tang, like the Forest/M2K. Haven't cut one up to see for sure, though.

I'm still waiting to get one of those chisel tips at the bottom of the list.

Thanks.
FWIW, when I expressed disinterest above, I was talking about the bigger stainless bushcrafters.
I very much am into the smaller carbon knives.

It's a bushcraft forest.

The Bushcraft Forest use the same grind as the old Mora 2000 and Mora 2010 which is tapered near the tang (as highlighted on picture above).

The bushcraft force has a constant thicker grind from handle to tip as seen on picture below

As for the triflex, it uses the same blanks as the old Triflex craftsman which itself was similar to the famous "Swak" aka Frosts'Craftman Mora.

The Mora 2010 uses the same blank as old Mora 2000 except settles deeper in handle (which means shorter blade and longer tang). Bushcraft Forest/Signal/Force are based on Mora 2010 so retain the same tang.

Okay, this suggests I need to re-label again.
Should it read, "Bushcraft Force (same tang as Signal, Force, and Mora 2010)"?
Sounds to me you're saying the Mora 2000 tang is seated differently.

Actually more like "Bushcraft Force (same tang as Signal, Force, and Mora 2010 and 2000)". Anyway I'm not 100% sure about it really looks like it.
If you look at the famous Mora X-ray shot, Mora 2000 has a longer blade and a shorter tang, both has similar grind. That plus personal speculations.

Mora needs to bring back the 510. . .

+1. I got into moras after 510 was discontinued....I want the plain red or whatever color and I don't really care about Ray Mears stamp on the blade in order to pay more than 3x price.

Regarding the 3rd model down in Rescue Riley's pic....I can only say I got it and it feels heaviercompared to the Buscraft Triflex - so I agree with what the pic shows.
As far as the name of that model goes, mine was called Mora#2010MG (green handle/sheath from amoscutlery). Other vendor(s) call it Bushcraft Forest (green color) or Bushcraft Signal (Black color).
